The Mighty Mage-Chapter 387: Awakening
Chapter 387: Chapter 387: Awakening
That night a certain someone didn’t sleep or cultivate.
Gu Jin returned to her room, with a smile on her face.
Just which mage wouldn’t be?
10 supreme rank beasts! All of them were hers! Does she still need to worry about getting assassinated?
Heck! She can even sleep peacefully in the forgotten elemental world.
Gu Jin’s hands were itchy, but she felt particularly drained for some reason. So she decided to check the beasts tomorrow.
With that thought, she kept the storage ring and entered her space.
For the next 10 hours, she slept peacefully and then started cultivating.
In the morning she went to the training fields.
When the training was over, Luo Meng stopped Gu Jin,
"Master, please wait."
Gu Jin frowned but still halted.
Luo Meng caught up to her and said,
"Master I realized my mistake. I shouldn’t have bombarded you with so many gifts. Especially the ones you don’t want. I should respect your choice."
Gu Jin looked at Luo Meng carefully. His face was serious, and he really seemed sorry.
She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.
"You finally understand?" she asked.
Luo Meng nodded quickly.
"Yes, Master! I just wanted to show my sincerity, but I went too far. I won’t make the same mistake again."
Gu Jin sighed and uncrossed her arms.
"Good. As long as you remember that, we won’t have a problem."
Luo Meng smiled in relief.
"Thank you, Master! Then... can I still give you gifts? Small ones?"
Gu Jin rolled her eyes but didn’t seem too annoyed.
"If it’s something useful, then fine. But don’t bring me useless stuff like last time."
Luo Meng grinned. "Understood!"
Just then, Long Yifan walked toward them with his usual confident smile.
"Good morning, Gu Jin," he greeted.
Gu Jin glanced at him but didn’t reply.
Long Yifan didn’t seem to mind. He turned to Luo Meng.
"Oh, you’re still here? I thought you were done bothering Gu Jin."
Luo Meng frowned. "I was just apologizing!"
Long Yifan smirked. "Good. You should apologize for all the trouble you caused."
Gu Jin sighed. "Enough. I don’t have time for this. I have things to do."
She turned and walked away, not waiting for a response.
Long Yifan watched Gu Jin’s back as she walked off.
"Yup, you are slowly becoming irrelevant to her. She won’t even acknowledge you so, give up." Luo Meng’s nonchalant voice sounded.
Long Yifan’s smile twitched, but he quickly covered it up. He turned to Luo Meng with a smirk.
"You sound pretty confident," he said. "But last I checked, Gu Jin still talks to me more than she does to you."
Luo Meng’s face darkened. "Hmph. I don’t need her attention like some desperate fool."
Long Yifan chuckled. "Sure, keep telling yourself that."
Without another word, he walked off, following Gu Jin’s direction.
Luo Meng didn’t want to give Gu Jin and Long Yifan any alone time, hence, he followed behind.
Long Yifan was so irritated that he almost wanted to slap Luo Meng.
’Does such type of irritating love rival exist? I will never let my Jin’er to deal with such an irritating category of love rival....sh*t! She has already dealt with one! Gu Aihan!
Karma is truly b*tch. Now I am dealing with someone as same as Gu Aihan!’ Long Yifan thought.
He felt bitter and almost wanted to throw a tantrum. But he remembered his nonexistent status, because of which he could only be bullied for now.
Long Yifan felt as if he was a low-level concubine in a harem, vying for the princess’s attention.
Once again he was filled with regret for treating Gu Jin coldly.
’If only...if only I had listened to my heart. By now, I would become one of Gu Jin’s possession!’
Long Yifan’s current status was like that of a Bitcoin buyer, who sold the bitcoin for 3 pizza slices, only for the price of Bitcoin to reach $100,000.

Gu Jin unaware of Long Yifan’s condition, went to her dorm room and let out of the smallest beast.
A bright flash of light filled the room before fading to reveal a tiny creature. It was no bigger than a house cat, covered in silver fur with faint golden patterns running along its body. Its big, round eyes were a deep shade of violet, glowing softly in the dim light. Two small horns protruded from its head, and its fluffy tail twitched slightly.
The little beast stood there, completely dazed.
Its ears flickered, but it didn’t move. Its eyes were unfocused as if it was still lost in another world.
Gu Jin frowned. "Still in shock?"
She bent down, reaching out to touch its soft fur.
As soon as her fingers brushed against it, she felt a strange connection forming.
It was faint, like a whisper in the wind, but she could tell the beast was supposed to be hers.
But there was a problem.
She didn’t have a summoning element.
Gu Jin sighed, her mood dropping. Without the summoning element, she couldn’t form a proper contract with the beast. She could keep it, feed it, and train it, but it would never truly be bound to her. If another summoner came along, they could easily tame and snatch it away.
Her fingers clenched into a fist.
"If only I had the summoning element..." she muttered under her breath.
Just as she spoke, a sudden pain shot through her body.
Gu Jin’s breath hitched. She recognized this pain.
Her eyes widened in shock. "No way..."
This was the pain of self-awakening!
Before she could even react, the golden mana ball inside her mana space started vibrating violently. A powerful force spread through her body, making her knees go weak. She stumbled back, gripping the edge of her table for support.
"Damn it!" she cursed. The pain was growing stronger by the second.
Her entire body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside.
It wasn’t the first time she had experienced this, but it didn’t make it any easier.
Beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she gritted her teeth.
She needed to find the source of this awakening!
Gu Jin forced herself to focus, trying to sense where this sudden change was coming from.
But no matter how much she searched, she found nothing. There was no external force, no sudden burst of elemental energy.
Nothing.
Her frustration grew.
She closed her eyes and entered her mana space.
The golden mana ball, which was three times larger than a normal person’s, was vibrating violently. The energy inside it was chaotic, swirling like a raging storm. It was the source of this mess.
Gu Jin’s lips pressed into a thin line.
She stepped closer and placed her hand on the mana ball.
The moment she touched it, she expected to hear a voice—like the time she awakened her other elements. But this time, there was nothing.
Silence.
Gu Jin’s expression darkened. "What the hell is going on?"
She pressed her palm against the mana ball harder, trying to force an answer out of it.
But still, no response.
"Are you kidding me?" she growled.
She was about to awaken an element, but she didn’t even know which one! How was she supposed to prepare? Where was she supposed to go? Without knowing the element, she had no way of ensuring a smooth awakening. She needed to be in the right environment, surrounded by the right energy, or else the process could go horribly wrong.
Yet here she was, completely clueless.
And now, even her mana ball was refusing to give her answers.
Gu Jin’s patience snapped.
"Fine! Be that way!" she yelled at the golden mana ball.
Her anger flared, but there was nothing she could do. She couldn’t force an answer out of it.
Frustrated, she pulled her hand away and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
She had faced worse situations before. This wasn’t the end of the world.
She just needed to be patient.
As she opened her eyes, she found herself back in her dorm room.
Her body trembled as the pain intensified. It was like fire spreading through her veins, burning every inch of her from the inside. Her breath became ragged, and her vision blurred for a moment. The strength in her legs vanished, and she nearly collapsed onto the floor.
She bit down on her lip, refusing to fall.
She had endured worse before.
This was nothing. But despite her willpower, her body didn’t listen.
Her hands shook as she gripped the nearby table, trying to keep herself steady.
Her instincts screamed at her to move, to do something
Just then, a sudden knock echoed through the room.
Knock! Knock!
"Gu Jin, are you there?" Long Yifan’s voice came from the other side of the door. "I need to talk to you."
Gu Jin’s eyes widened slightly Long Yifan! Perfect timing!
