Chapter 395: Chapter 395: Gathering Materials

"Poison attribute?!" The man with the Shadow Element frowned, increasing the pressure on his binding spell.

Gu Jin’s lips curled into a smirk. "Too slow."

With a flick of her thoughts, shadows surged from beneath her feet, twisting into clawed hands.

They lashed out, striking the nearest thug and sending him crashing into a wall. His body convulsed before slumping to the ground.

The Shadow user growled and stepped back. He gathered more mana, forming a web of dark chains to reinforce his hold on her.

Gu Jin tilted her head, her dark eyes flashing with eerie amusement.

"You think you can hold me?"

A deep crimson glow flickered in her pupils.

Flames erupted around her, burning away the shadow bindings in an instant.

At the same time, a skeletal aura seeped from her body, wrapping around her like a second skin.

Her fingers stretched, cracking slightly as an undead-like aura pulsed from her.

The thugs hesitated, their expressions changing.

"Undead element..." one of them whispered, fear creeping into his voice. frёeωebɳovel.com

Gu Jin didn’t give them a chance to retreat.

Dark skeletal hands burst from the shadows, pulling the remaining thugs into the ground. Their terrified screams echoed before being silenced.

The shadow user gasped, stumbling backward.

He tried to teleport away, but before he could, Gu Jin’s shadow stretched unnaturally fast, grabbing his ankle.

He paled. "Wait—!"

A fiery clawed hand formed in front of his face. The heat was unbearable. Gu Jin’s voice was calm but cold.

"I was in a good mood today. But you just had to ruin it."

She clenched her fist, and the flames flared, licking at his skin. He gritted his teeth, struggling against her grasp.

"P-please! We were just following orders!" he stammered.

Gu Jin watched him for a moment, then scoffed. She released her grip, letting him collapse to the ground. The vines retracted, the shadows faded, and the eerie undead aura disappeared in an instant.

The surviving members scrambled to their feet and ran, dragging their unconscious allies with them.

Gu Jin dusted off her sleeves. "Pathetic."

She glanced at the black-cloaked woman, who was now shaking slightly, her hands clenched into fists.

"T-this isn’t over," the woman hissed before vanishing into the darkness.

Gu Jin sighed, shaking her head. "I really don’t have time for this."

She turned and left, the market noise returning to normal behind her.

After dealing with the ambush, Gu Jin sighed and walked back into the busy market. The attack had wasted some of her time, but she wasn’t worried. She still had other materials to collect. She exited the Beijing University.

Her first stop was a well-known magic shop run by an old merchant named Elder Mo.

His store was packed with rare items, glowing potions, and strange artifacts.

Gu Jin stepped inside, and the old man glanced up from behind the counter.

"Ah, young lady, what brings you here today?" he asked with a knowing smile.

"I need Spirit Ink and a Meditation Core," Gu Jin said calmly.

Elder Mo stroked his long beard.

"A Meditation Core, hmm? Not an easy thing to find. But you’re lucky." He reached under the counter and pulled out a small crystal, shining with a soft, calming blue light.

"This is a high-grade Meditation Core, perfect for stabilizing mental energy. But it won’t come cheap."

Gu Jin took the crystal and examined it closely. It was pure and filled with mana, exactly what she needed. "How much?" she asked.

"Fifty million yuan," Elder Mo replied with a grin.

Gu Jin didn’t even blink. She placed a card on the counter. "I’ll take it. Also, the Spirit Ink?"

Elder Mo chuckled. "I like customers like you—straight to the point." He handed her a small vial filled with thick, shimmering ink. "This ink is made from rare spirit plants and beast blood. It will work perfectly for your formation."

Gu Jin nodded, paid the amount, and left without another word.

Next, she needed the Beast Blood Catalyst.

For that, she headed to the beast hunter’s market, a place filled with the scent of blood and the roars of captured creatures.

Fierce beasts, locked in iron cages, snarled as hunters haggled with buyers.

Gu Jin walked up to a stall where a burly man with scars on his arms was selling beast materials.

"Do you have the essence blood of a strong magical beast?" she asked.

The man squinted at her.

"Depends on what you’re looking for. I have mid-grade blood from a Silverfang Wolf or high-grade from a Crimson Serpent. But the good stuff is expensive."

Gu Jin didn’t hesitate. "I want the Crimson Serpent’s blood."

The man whistled. "That’ll be seventy million yuan."

She paid without question. The man handed her a small vial filled with thick, glowing red liquid. The power inside it pulsed lightly, showing its strength.

With that done, she had everything except the Summoning Stone.

As she walked away from the stall, she clenched the vial in her hand.

Gu Jin walked out of the bustling marketplace, her bag now filled with rare materials.

The only thing missing was the Summoning Stone. She had searched everywhere but had no luck finding one.

There was only one person she could think of who might have it—Long Yifan.

She headed straight toward the boys’ dormitory. The campus was large, but she knew her way around.

The dormitory building was tall, with rows of windows where students could be seen talking, laughing, or studying.

A few boys stood outside, chatting, but they fell silent when they noticed Gu Jin approaching.

She ignored their stares and walked up to the front desk, where a student volunteer sat, flipping through a book.

"I need Long Yifan’s dorm room number," she said, her voice calm but firm.

The student looked up, startled. He adjusted his glasses and hesitated.

"Uh, do you have permission?"

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow. "Do I need permission?"

The student gulped.

Something about her gaze made him uneasy.

He quickly checked his records and mumbled, "Room 306, third floor."

Without another word, Gu Jin turned and walked toward the stairs.

She climbed up swiftly, each step steady and confident. Soon, she reached Room 306. She knocked twice and waited.

For a moment, there was no response. Then, she heard rustling sounds from inside before the door creaked open.

Long Yifan stood in the doorway, wearing a loose white T-shirt and black sweatpants.

His dark hair was slightly messy as if he had just woken up. His eyes widened in shock when he saw Gu Jin standing there.

"Gu Jin?" he blurted out. He blinked, then rubbed his eyes repeatedly, as if making sure he wasn’t dreaming.

Gu Jin crossed her arms. "Are you going to let me in?"

Long Yifan snapped out of his daze and quickly stepped aside. "Ah! Yes, of course. Come in."

She walked in, glancing around.

The room was tidy, with a desk covered in books and a laptop. A portrait of a beautiful woman was hung on the wall, and the faint scent of tea lingered in the air.

Long Yifan closed the door and turned to face her, still looking surprised.

"I wasn’t expecting you to visit. This is... unexpected."

Gu Jin nodded. "I need something from you."

He raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"So you came all the way here because you need my help? Interesting."

She ignored his teasing tone.

"A Summoning Stone. You had an SSS-Rank Summoning Elemental Stone, so surely you will have a summoning stone too, right?"

Long Yifan’s playful expression faded. He studied her for a moment, then said,

"Hm? Can I ask for a reason...wait...are you thinking of going into summoning plane?"

Gu Jin met his gaze without hesitation. "Yes."

After a long pause, Long Yifan sighed again. "Alright, I’ll help you. But on one condition."

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

A smirk appeared on his face. "You owe me a favor. A big one. I don’t know what it’ll be yet, but when I ask, you have to agree."

Gu Jin narrowed her eyes. She didn’t like making vague promises, but she also didn’t have time to waste searching elsewhere. "Fine."

Long Yifan grinned. "Good. Give me a second."

He waved his hand and pulled out a small, locked box.

After unlocking it with a key, he opened the lid and took out a shining stone the size of a fist. It pulsed with a mysterious glow, swirling with different colors like a living flame.

"This is the Summoning Stone," he said, holding it out. "Use it wisely."

Gu Jin reached for it, but Long Yifan pulled it back slightly. "Remember, you owe me."

She rolled her eyes. "I know. Now hand it over."

With a chuckle, he finally placed the stone in her palm.

The moment she touched it, she felt a surge of energy flowing through her fingers. It was powerful, almost overwhelming, but she quickly suppressed the feeling.

"Thanks," she said simply, tucking the stone safely into her bag.
