Chapter 446: Chapter 446: Swapped

The one that stood out most was...

"Day 860.

Gu Jin, I had a wet dream about you. Ah...I might become crazy at this point. This letter will never reach you anyway, so I will tell you about my dream.

I saw you taking a bath in the Merai Forest’s river and you asked me to bring your clothes. However instead of giving you the clothes, I tossed them and jumped in the river too.

Once I reached you, I turned you around and saw your beautiful face. However what excited me the most was the tenderness in your eyes.

The way you looked at me...it was burning and passionate. I couldn’t hold back and kissed you.

I kissed you softly at first, but then... it got deeper. I couldn’t stop. You didn’t stop me either. Your hands... they wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer.

I felt your warmth against me, and I swear... I lost control. My heart was beating so fast that I thought it might explode.

You whispered my name... so softly, so sweetly... I thought I was dreaming.

But then... I woke up. Alone. Cold. And I realized... it was just a dream.

Why does my mind torture me like this? Why do I imagine things that can never happen?

Jin’er... I miss you so much. I miss the way you look at me, even when you’re angry. I miss your voice, even when you’re scolding me.

I don’t know how much longer I can endure this. Every time I see you, I want to hold you. But I can’t. I have to protect you, even if it means staying away.

But sometimes... I wonder... what if?

What if I could hold you just once? What if I could kiss you like I did in my dream?

Would you push me away? Or... would you let me love you the way I’ve always wanted to?

Jin’er, even if it’s just in my dreams, I’ll always love you.

— Long Yifan.

P.S. I’m going crazy. I need to stop writing these letters. But... I can’t.

I miss you."

Gu Jin: "..."

Jasmine smiled, seeing the speechless expression on Gu Jin’s face, and asked,

"How is it? As I said earlier, no one can be any more sincere than my brother."

She then turned toward Long Yifan and said,

"See, I solved something you couldn’t on your."

Long Yifa looked at the ceiling as if he wanted to die.

He truly wanted a portal to open and swallow him up.

At first he had tried to resist the psychic control his sister had put him under, but when he saw Gu Jin reading one of the letters that he dreaded the most, he knew it was over.

Hence, he stopped struggling all along and waited for the verdict.

Gu Jin’s anger had long since dissolved into nothingness. In fact, she felt like laughing.

How strange.

Without a word, she lifted the letter and said in a calm voice,

"Why don’t you try to read it?"

"Me? Ah, no need. I have read the letter before." Jasmine lied with a calm face.

Long Yifan: "..." Sister, please stop lying!

"Are you sure?" Gu Jin asked, emphasizing each word.

"Yes!" Jasmine nodded confidently.

"But I still think you need to read it once again." Gu Jin insisted.

Long Yifan shook his head furiously. He truly wanted to die.

Jasmine blinked, looking confused.

"Uh... why do I need to read it again? I already know what’s in there!" she said, her voice slightly nervous now.

Gu Jin’s lips curled into a small smile, but her eyes... oh, her eyes were dangerous.

"Just read it, Jasmine." Gu Jin held the letter out, waving it a little.

Jasmine gulped. "B-but..."

"Read. It." Gu Jin’s voice was soft, but it sent shivers down Jasmine’s spine.

Long Yifan, who was still standing there, wanted to cover his face with his hands. Why is this happening to me?

"Fine..." Jasmine sighed dramatically, snatching the letter.

She cleared her throat and started reading, but her voice got softer with every sentence.

"Gu Jin, I had a wet dream about you..."

"Fine..." Jasmine sighed dramatically, snatching the letter. She cleared her throat and started reading, but her voice got softer with every sentence.

"Gu Jin, I had a wet dream about you..."

Jasmine’s eyes widened as she read aloud, and her face turned bright red. Her voice cracked.

"Ah! I-I can’t! I can’t read this!" Jasmine threw the letter back at Gu Jin like it was on fire.

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.

"What happened? Weren’t you the one saying this letter shows how sincere he is?"

Jasmine covered her face. "That was before I knew this was in it!"

Gu Jin turned to Long Yifan, who was now looking at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"Yifan," Gu Jin said softly.

Long Yifan didn’t move.

"Yifan..."

Still no response.

"Long. Yifan."

"Ah!" He finally looked up, his face as red as a tomato. "Y-yes?"

Gu Jin tapped the letter on her palm. "You... wrote this?"

"I-I... I didn’t mean to! I mean, I didn’t think anyone would ever read it!" Long Yifan blurted, words tumbling out. "I just... I was frustrated, and I missed you, and... and..."

He trailed off, unable to look her in the eyes.

Gu Jin’s lips twitched. She was trying so hard not to laugh.

"Yifan," she said softly.

"Y-yeah?"

"Next time..." Gu Jin took a step closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Long Yifan gulped. "N-next time...?"

"Don’t leave these kinds of letters lying around."

"Ahhh!!!" Long Yifan groaned and buried his face in his hands again. His sister finally released her hold.

Jasmine, who had finally stopped blushing, couldn’t hold it in anymore. She burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Brother, I didn’t know you were this bold! I’m so proud of you!"

"SISTER!" Long Yifan glared at her.

"I’m just saying!" she giggled, wiping tears from her eyes.

Gu Jin looked at Long Yifan again, her eyes softer now. "You’re really..." She paused, her lips pressing together as if she was thinking.

"Really, what?" Long Yifan mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Really... an idiot," Gu Jin said and turned toward her room.

Her mood wasn’t as heavy as before, and she didn’t scold Long Yifan like he had expected her to.

Once she entered the room, Gu Jin leaned on the door with her back facing the door and slowly slid down.

Her expression was still cold, but her ears had turned red at some point.

"Stupid! Stupid! Who writes...such lewd things?"

Meanwhile, Jasmine was still laughing so hard that she was holding her stomach.

"Hahaha! Oh my god, Brother, I can’t believe you actually wrote that! And dreams too?!" She wiped the tears from her eyes, trying to catch her breath.

Long Yifan, on the other hand, looked like he had lost the will to live. He stood there, frozen, his face still as red as a cooked crab.

"Jasmine... can you... stop..." he mumbled weakly, his voice barely louder than a whisper.

"Stop?" Jasmine grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Why would I stop? This is the funniest thing that’s happened in years!"

"Jasmine..." Long Yifan’s eyes were pleading now.

But Jasmine wasn’t done yet. She walked up to him and patted his shoulder.

"Brother," she said, trying to hold back another laugh, "if you like Gu Jin this much, why didn’t you just tell her? Why write so many... interesting letters?"

"Because I didn’t want her to know!" Long Yifan snapped, his face getting redder by the second.

"Uh... too late for that," Jasmine said, giving him a pitying look.

Long Yifan groaned and covered his face again. "I’m dead... I’m so dead..."

"Come on, it’s not that bad!" Jasmine tried to comfort him, but the huge grin on her face ruined it.

"I mean... Gu Jin didn’t even yell at you. Isn’t that a good thing?"

Long Yifan peeked through his fingers. "...Really?"

"Yup!" Jasmine nodded, her eyes twinkling. "She just called you an idiot."

"...An idiot..." Long Yifan repeated, his heart sinking again.

"Yeah, but a cute idiot," Jasmine added, winking.

"Jasmine..." Long Yifan groaned, his head dropping in defeat. "Just... leave me alone..."

Jasmine plopped beside him and said,

"Well, it’s your mistake. I mean, I repeatedly told you to listen to your heart and break off your engagement with Gu Aihan. That b*tch was cheating your from the age of 15.

I even wonder how she didn’t get any kind of weird disease till now. If I hadn’t seen her making out with one of my colleagues, I would have never believed that she was a white lotus.

Ugh, if only she didn’t exist. If only the Gu Jin and Gu Aihan weren’t swapped at birth. Many things would have been different."

Long Yifan’s eyes burned with hatred at that thought,

"You are right. The real culprits are those who had swapped Gu Jin and Gu Aihan at birth."
