The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 14 – Robin’s reasons
Chapter 14: Chapter 14 – Robin’s reasons
The villa looked as neat as always and there was the aroma of Robin’s favorite pasta. He loved the familiar scent and sauntering to the dining table, he saw the steaming pasta, just the way Sabrina used to cook it.
He sat on the chair, his eyes on the pasta, and was about to pick the cutlery but was curious about the cook. His eyes darted here and there but there was no sign of her. ’Where is she?’ Robin asked himself and slowly dropped the cutlery.
"Sabrina, are you back? You know I miss you right?"
He did not care that he said it openly and anyone might hear it including the maids. There was no response but he heard movements from the kitchen, beginning to walk towards it. He stopped at the entrance when he saw her back turned.
"Did you hear what I said? I said I missed you." He never said such words to her before and was expecting her reaction. He saw Sabrina turn around and smile. She began to speak but the sound of her voice sounded different.
"Darling, what are you saying? Did you forget my name?"
He saw Sabrina speaking but the voice he kept hearing was not hers, though it was also familiar. "Darling, you promised," Robin felt a hand around his manhood but there was a reasonable distance between them. His eyes opened and he saw a face close to his, a hand which was caressing his hard manhood, and their lips almost colliding.
He pushed the familiar face away and rose to a sitting position, messing his hair with his fingers, and his vision blurred.
Zayla fell on the floor, buttocks first, her eyes wide in panic at the reckoning of the situation.
"Robin, what happened?" She asked in a teary voice with teary ears. Robin groaned before trying to analyze the situation.
"Zayla?"
He saw her on the floor as if she was in pain. His heart tightened at how he carelessly pushed a pregnant woman. He was surprised when the understanding settled that he was dreaming about Sabrina a while ago. ’That woman. How dare she play with my mind?’ Robin could not understand how Sabrina had appeared in his dreams.
"What happened? Why are you sitting on the floor?"
Zayla was amazed by the split change in him. It did not ease the bitterness and pain she felt earlier upon hearing that he was missing his ex-wife. How could he miss her when she was right there, offering herself to him?
"You pushed me away, Robin. You pushed me," Zayla whimpered, wiping her tears.
Robin felt guilty and his heart tightened. He was not too drunk so the sleep helped. The fatigue he felt was more than the alcohol in his system since he had neither eaten nor slept well for two days now.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to," he stood up, bent down, and scooped Zayla into his arms. His hands rested on her stomach when he sat on the couch and settled her on his lap. It felt like a dream for Robin to give her so much attention.
"Are you sure darling?" She asked, hiding the amusement that was begging to come out of the shield. When she wrapped her arms around his neck. Robin was suddenly uncomfortable.
’There we go again with this darling of a thing.’
"Just address me by my name, Zayla," Robin said with equal irritation.
Realizing that Sabrina had a part in Robin’s heart, Zayla readily agreed. If she angered him, he would begin comparing and that would not be good.
"But Robin, you said that you missed Sabrina."
Robin was not expecting the question. Was Zayla in his dream? Or maybe, he spoke allowed. "Ha? Did I?"
"Maybe you were dreaming but you said so," Zayla pressed, making it tough for him to deny it.
"There’s nothing like that," he tried to clarify. He did not understand the reason why he said those things in a mere dream when he never said so to any woman in real life. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"But you said it."
"I must have but maybe it was a dream." Seeing Zayla’s dismay, he explained further.
"Look, even when enemies who have lived together get separated, there might still be a few things to remind you of the person. Sabrina was always good to me so it would not be wrong for me to feel a little guilty for having divorced her. You are the want I want, Zayla. Understand that."
His soft words melted Zayla’s heart and she pressed her forehead to his. "But you make me feel as if I’m forcing myself on you." Her lips were about to meet his when he pulled his head back. Zayla was disheartened but Robin explained,
"I need time, Zayla. The doctor must have said it’s okay to have sex but when I don’t feel right about something, I take my time."
The light in Zayla’s eyes dimmed at his words. How can a man claim to love a woman and not feel sexually attracted to her? Zayla did not have the forbearance for him to put it all together. "You are not sure about me?"
Robin guided her away from his lap to sit next to him. He explained once again. "Not you. The fear of hurting the child. It’s still at the early stage. Please Zayla, let’s wait and have another check. Then I can be sure."
His soft words made Zayla uneasy. Her father would not be able to pull any more strings so her mind went into thinking mode once again. "Are you sure you want me and this child?" The child was Robin’s greatest weakness and he thought carefully before responding,
"If I didn’t, I would not have divorced Sabrina. I owe you my life, Zayla...I"
Zayla smiled but her heart was bleeding. It seemed that Robin only wanted her because she saved his life. If not,
"Then why have you not asked me to marry you?" Zayla asked, forcing Robin to bite back the rest of his words.
