The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 433 - Well, let’s find this man
Chapter 433: Chapter 433 - Well, let’s find this man
"What is going on?" Sabrina asked, perplexed. Robin’s attention was drawn to the media rep making the announcement as everybody else was dumbfounded.
Robin hated media intrusion. In this case, he had personally invited the media to report only what he wanted, so how dare this woman report something different? Robin was upset.
Spotting the direction from which the voice was coming, he began to march towards it.
"I’m coming with you," Sabrina said seriously when she saw Robin headed in the direction of the reporter who made the announcement, and Robin did not refuse.
"Mr. Jewel is ready to announce the birth of their..."
"Enough!" Robin raged behind the reporter. Her words stuck in her throat as she wondered why Robin had moved to her back to suddenly stop her from making the same announcement, he had previously told her to do.
Turning around and seeing Robin with Sabrina and the fading stain of wine on his tuxedo, she paled as confusion clouded her mind.
"Mi...Mister Jewel," the reporter stumbled and spoke. Before she uttered another word, Robin raged,
"How dare you make an announcement without my consent? How did you even know about the twins?"
He was furious, and his fierce gaze made her afraid; she wished she could just dig the ground and hide in it.
"Mi...I...it was you. You told me to make the announcement," the reporter stammered and spoke, wondering where she went wrong in obeying this man.
Both Robin and Sabrina were instantly guessing what was happening but did not want to accept it without proof, so Robin asked seriously,
"What are you talking about?"
The reporter stared back pleadingly at him. At that moment, she was not even observing the changes in attire and only wanted her life to be spared.
All eyes were on her, making her uncomfortable as well. "You told me to make the announcement."
"Me?" Robin asked with a deep frown. Her heart sunk as she wondered how a great man like Robin would just lie in front of all these people.
Then again, she couldn’t understand why Robin kept denying his children. Was he not proud of them? Or what had just happened?
"Yes, but why did you change your tuxedo again?" She finally observed Robin’s clothing and asked with confusion.
Seeing Robin’s gaze soften a little, she continued, "The other one didn’t have a stain on it and it was all white. I mean, this one is nicer and the stains are less visible, but since it’s your wedding day, I think the stainless tuxedo is a much better choice."
Sabrina’s breath caught in her throat once again as Lizzy and Devin joined them. "What is going on?" Devin asked.
"It’s the same person I saw at the washroom entrance. That was the same attire he wore," Sabrina panicked and spoke. The reporter feared that the man she had taken instruction from was indeed not Robin.
That could be the only reason why Robin was furious with her. Robin instantly took the microphone from the reporter upon realizing it was the same man causing the trouble and made an announcement.
"Everyone, please be on the lookout. There is a man who looks like me at this wedding and I don’t know what he wants. If you see anyone who looks like me in an attire different from mine, it’s not me."
"As you can all see, there is a stain on my attire and I have decided to not go anywhere without my wife. So if you see me without my wife or if you see such a person, please notify any of the security agents around."
The announcement confused everyone, which Robin expected. But if he continued to handle things discreetly, who knew what this imposter would be up to next?
Robin did not want any more surprises. "Mr. Jewel, could it be that you are triplets?" one of his important guests asked, the rest nodding their heads in agreement.
Daniel felt helpless that he had not been able to get to the bottom of this, even with Peter’s help.
Robin turned in the direction of the pale-looking Cecilia and said, "My grandma never mentioned anything like that. She was the only one who was there when I was born, so I don’t know," he said honestly.
Experience had taught him not to jump to conclusions, especially when he lacked the confirmation supposed to come with it.
However, in spite of everything going on, most of them were still curious to know the truth about Robin and Sabrina’s children, if they indeed had any, and one of them asked,
"Mr. Jewel, is it true that you have twins?"
Before Robin opened his mouth to speak, Laura spoke into the microphone. "Mr. Jewel, I’m taking the twins to a safe place with two agents. When you are getting home, I will bring them to you."
Robin smiled and looked at where Laura sat before. The seat was empty and some of the agents were equally not there. He loved the way she took her job seriously.
She understood her role and interpreted it well. Most people would have waited for Robin to give the instruction but not Laura.
She left before any attention could be drawn to the twins for anyone to know how they even looked like.
Before Robin could respond, Jacob spoke through the earpiece. "I will be with Laura. I guess we make a great couple and my niece and nephew would be safe with us. Don’t worry. I will protect them with my life."
Robin smiled internally and as he smiled at Sabrina, her heart slightly warmed, as she already figured out that Robin was up to something.
Robin finally responded to the question saying, "Well, let’s find this man who looks like me first. I think his matter is more important at this moment, don’t you think so?" He asked, and everybody agreed.
The general suspected something wrong and beckoned Robin. However, before Robin took a step, a shrill tore through the air and everyone looked in Matilda’s direction. Her water had broken and she was in intense pain.
