His words touched a delicate part of Laura’s heart, and she thought for a while. "Okay. I will keep checking. If it happens, I will protect what we have."

Jacob sighed with relief and dropped the drinking glass in the wine cabinet; the door automatically slid to a close.

He unbuttoned the shirt he wore, exposing his well-defined chest. Laura gulped at the view, feeling the urge to touch it.

As she made a move to do so, Jacob bent a little and removed his pants, leaving just his boxer shorts on, as his eyes scanned the room once again.

"I can’t figure out where the bedroom is," he said in a deep voice. Laura pressed a remote, and a blind on the wall, which Jacob thought was concrete, lifted up, exposing a luxurious bedroom. He smirked.

"I love it here. Everything is so hi-tech," Jacob remarked, and Laura smiled. He instantly swept her off her feet into his arms without warning, causing the towel to fall, exposing her complete nakedness.

"You are hot," Jacob remarked. Laura smiled as he dropped her on the bed gently, their lips instantly locked. Jacob’s touch on her skin caused her to shiver from the sensation sent across her whole body.

He feared that he might never have a time like this again if she doesn’t get pregnant and took his time to feel every inch of her firm, flawless skin. As he kissed in between her breasts, he saw a scar and confirmed that everything he learned about Laura during the investigation was true.

"How did you get this scar?" He asked. Laura froze slightly. Jacob was planting soft kisses on the exposed parts of her body while waiting for an answer to his question.

Laura bit her bottom lip and responded truthfully, "I was shot, but can we not talk about it?" She asked.

Jacob was a little pained. If she was willing to give him her first time, then why couldn’t she trust him with that information?

Jacob saw other scars on her body, which were only visible because of their close proximity, but his only concern was the one on her chest.

"I will tell you everything if I survive," she finally said.

"I have to go now."

Jacob nodded, but sadness filled his eyes. However, after Laura had dressed and was at the door, he rose swiftly from the bed and blocked her path.

Laura’s eyes widened, but he had already aroused so many things inside of her with the request.

Within seconds, their clothes were scattered on the floor, and this time, they were both exhausted by the time they were done, sleep stole them.

When Jacob woke up, Laura was not in bed, and there was a note waiting to be read where she had laid. Jacob picked up the note with trembling hands and read it, as if he was picturing Laura telling the words to him.

A tear dropped from Jacob’s eyes, wetting the note as he began to fear for the woman he loved. However, he couldn’t stay and do nothing. An idea instantly crossed his mind, and he began to dress up.
