Chapter 707: Chapter 700 Difficult Choices

Gao Yuan left devastation in his wake as though a tornado had swept through, for he could destroy everything around him at will, but he soon ceased to do so. After realizing he could take whatever he wanted and that the Serpent People’s mothership, vast as it was, served merely as his hunting ground, he saw no need to destroy what already belonged to him.

When Gao Yuan felt he had arrived where he intended, he stopped and started to curiously survey his surroundings.

This was the control room of the Serpent People, or rather, the heart of the entire mothership. Approximately a hundred Serpent People were present here.

Gao Yuan stood amidst a group of Serpent People who were variously seated or standing, or working on screens that seemed very sci-fi. At that moment, they all stopped their tasks and watched Gao Yuan.

A silent mutual scrutiny ensued between the two sides.

Finally, Gao Yuan sighed and said calmly, yet loudly, "I have always wanted to try if I could blow off your heads with a gun, but I didn’t bring one."

As Gao Yuan began to speak, the Serpent People finally started to move chaotically, and then one of them rose from their floating platform and began to speak in the human language.

"You..."

With just one word, the Serpent Person fell silent, for there really was nothing to say between them at that moment.

"You traversed the galaxy to come here, destroyed my home, killed my parents, my family, took everything from me. Did you ever consider a moment like this might come?"

There was nothing to say, but Gao Yuan couldn’t hold back his words.

How could he remain silent when an angry, sorrowful person, who had lost everything, finally faced their enemy?

Times had changed. Gao Yuan was no longer the human who could only cling to life in desperation against the Serpent People.

Humans had received help, help from aliens. But if humanity had done nothing, they wouldn’t have had a chance to receive the Celestials’ assistance, and Gao Yuan would not have had the opportunity to stand here.

Wait, it should be said ’Shenzhou People’ not merely ’humans.’ Without the sacrifice and efforts of the Shenzhou People, Gao Yuan wouldn’t be able to stand here.

Without Yang Yi, there would have been no Revelation.

Without Ram, there would have been no precious forward base at Malakal.

Without the cries of the Da Hong Third Company to abandon illusions and confront death, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without General Wang Hu, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without the sacrifices of the civilians and soldiers of Shimen Shelter No.2, and Stonegate Branch One, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without the diehard battles of the Guisui Institution No.1, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without the Supreme Command’s desperate efforts to fund the Shenzhou Expeditionary Army by any means necessary, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without Zhao Qiang, without Lizhizi’s deaths, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Without Shenzhou’s all-out investment in controllable nuclear fusion and mecha technology, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here. freewёbnoνel.com

Without Solar System Company, without Spark Squad, without Angels, without Satan, without Angels, without those who bravely faced death for a glimmer of hope, Gao Yuan wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

If Gao Yuan hadn’t left the Supreme Command, if he hadn’t been to the brink of death and back several times, he wouldn’t have the opportunity to stand here.

Every single person mattered, every bit of strength was vital, and so Gao Yuan arrived, now standing here.

Gao Yuan was clad in a Celestial’s combat mech, but this mech wasn’t gifted by the Celestials, nor was it something Gao Yuan had asked for, begged for, stolen, or seized by force; it was something they had unearthed from beneath the ground.

That Gao Yuan could now stand here in the mech was due to the entire nation of Shenzhou’s effort; many people had sacrificed their lives to put him in this position, to raise him up.

Thus, Gao Yuan truly wanted to say something on behalf of those who would never have the chance to come here, to see what the Serpent People really looked like, and then curse them out.

Gao Yuan took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled, regulating his breathing, before he bellowed, "I am Gao Yuan from the Big Red Third Company of the Fierce Tiger Brigade of the People’s Liberation Army of Shenzhou, representing Earthlings, all who have died unjustly, all who have fought for..."

Gao Yuan paused, falling silent for a moment before he shouted, "On behalf of everyone who wished to take you down but never got the chance, I say, fuck you! Go to hell!"

Gao Yuan moved again; reaching out his hand, a Serpent Person uncontrollably flew towards him, and then Gao Yuan smashed the Serpent Person’s head with a single punch.

"Are you scared?"

Roaring, Gao Yuan asked a question, but he didn’t throw the lifeless body of the Serpent Person and the floating platform away; instead, he beckoned once more, and another Serpent Person struggled as it flew toward him, and then he slapped again, shattering the Serpent Person’s head entirely.

"Are you scared! Are you scared!"

Gao Yuan was able to use force fields to move at high velocity, and he could also control any object that flew towards him.

But efficiency like this was ultimately too slow, so in Gao Yuan’s hands there finally appeared two glowing... cylindrical objects, like two long rods.

These weren’t lightsabers, nor were they beams of energy; they were intensely compressed force fields causing a collapse of space, not quite black holes, but a weapon beyond what both humans and the Serpent People could imagine. The shimmering light was merely a physical phenomenon of the air being ionized.

Using the most unimaginable technology to enable the simplest form of combat.

The Serpent People began to flock towards Gao Yuan, and swinging both hands, he turned each and every one racing towards him into indescribable chunks.

This was a highly efficient, yet incredibly precise massacre.

The Serpent People screamed as they were drawn in by Gao Yuan, coming close, taking flight, and then becoming chunks falling at Gao Yuan’s feet.

Gao Yuan ran, slaughtering every Serpent Person that entered his field with ruthless efficiency.

"Surrender!"

While Gao Yuan was venting the resentment and grief he had accumulated for too long, suddenly a familiar voice rang out.

Gao Yuan paused, and a Serpent Person in mid-air fell to the ground, watching him in terror. Judging by the attire and body shape, and differences in the uniform, this appeared to be a female, a female Serpent Person.

"We surrender! Let us have peace; we stayed behind to negotiate, no, to surrender. We didn’t leave immediately because we wanted to exchange this spaceship for peace, the technology of this ship."

Gao Yuan turned around, and a Serpent Person far away continued using the amplifier on the floating platform, "We have been defeated, we admit defeat, we are willing to hand over all of our technology. This spaceship is valuable, it can take you directly into space. You have more advanced spacecraft, but any technology is precious, it can save you a very long time. We are willing to exchange that for lasting peace, for permanent peace."

Gao Yuan fell silent, and at that moment, the Serpent Person speaking continued, "If you are willing to exchange the technology for immortality, we... we can offer even more technology in exchange, just agree, and everything can be negotiated!"

Gao Yuan thought earnestly about it, then he was unsure whether to continue or to accept the Serpent People’s surrender.

At this moment, the situation posed a truly difficult choice for Gao Yuan.
