The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 176: Making small talk.
Nobody could fathom how grandma Zhang's original sitting plan had been dismantled but Caishen ended up next to Alix. On her other side was a smug Tai Ho Sun and the two less than happy grandparents sat across from them.
Thanks to that, everyone was silent for a while at the table, creating a bit of an awkward environment. Chairman Tai for one was staring in disbelief at his son that so shamelessly occupied a position which he knew very well his grandfather desired.
No matter how he signaled, however, Ho Sun acted blind.
He leaned his down and whispered to his wife, "Do something."
Mo Qilu, nodded looking serious as if she had been given a task to save the world. She looked at Alix and said, "Pretty baby, these are your other aunties, Li Aihuan and He Jingli."
Alix spared a warm smile for the two women she had not been introduced to. Aihuan was Tai Chao's wife and Jingli, Tai Bo's wife. Where Aihuan was taller and stern faced, giving off the appearance of someone who took meticulous care of herself, Jing Li was shorter, and more lively.
"Hello," she said politely.
Mo Qilu squealed a little and looked at the other two. "She is pretty, right?"
"Like a celebrity." Jing Li said.
"You guessed it right, she is a celebrity." Ho Sun told his aunt.
"Really?" Aihuan asked, surprised.
She looked Alix up and down. They had all met their fair share of celebrities because of the jewelry business so she was familiar with the attitudes of most celebrities. Most of them were haughty, and carried themselves with arrogance. Alix was polite and soft spoken. She didn't seem like a celebrity at all.
"What movies have you been in?" she asked her. Aihuan's voice, Alix noted, was even stern in the way she spoke.

"She is in the new season of let's get physical." Ho Sun answered.
"Aaah, I remember. You were dressed a bit differently from the others." Tai Fong drawled out his words as the memory came to him.
Tai Ho Sun had watched the show the previous night and most of them took a look here and there but they had plans so nobody paid extreme
attention to it.
"I am not familiar with that." Aihuan said. "But, I will take a peek and see."
Grandpa Tai was happy with her response.
"That's right, we should all support our Xi Xi where possible. I am sure that if the tables are turned she will support any of you sincerely."
Alix's face was full of smiles and appreciation for grandpa Tai. She was already certain that when she had a solo concert or any performance, he would show up ready and eager to cheer her on.
She didn't want to force everyone else to support her however because the support should be sincere, not a directive. Everyone was still getting to know each other after all.
Tai Change picked up a wine glass and nodded in Alix's direction. "Little sister, when you become famous remember to endorse our TFK jewelry."
"Big sis, take me with you when you walk the walk carpet.. I am handsome, photogenic and charismatic." Tang Jiaan told her.
"Tsk, tsk, and also shameless." his mother said.
Everyone laughed around the table. Even Caishen managed to draw a smile. The boy was quite self-assured, extremely so.
"My wife is already famous, she is little superwoman." Caishen proudly told them. "She broke that concrete..."
"Hubby Zhang!!" Alix grabbed his arm and shook her head. "Spoilers, spoilers." she said urgently and put her left hand pointing finger on her lips.
They were not supposed to reveal content of the show. She had only told him about it because she was complaining about Pan Jin De at the time.
But, she shouldn't have worried about that because those at the table where more interested in her calling Caishen hubby Zhang than anything else.
The Tai brothers were mouthing it back to each other with laughter on their lips while the women smiled.
"Sorry," Caishen whispered to her.
She nodded, looked at the eggrolls on her plate, took one and put it on his.
"Eat." she said.
"You guys have a very good relationship, it's very satisfying to see." grandma Tai said.
She had been observing them together since they arrived. Caishen was never too far from Alix and so far, she counted the number of times he had initiated any form of physical contact.
"Yes," Caishen answered boldly.
Alix blushed a bit but she couldn't refute Caishen's words. They did have a good relationship so far. It was slowly and sweet, simmering for the moment but soon it would be boiling hot if they continued down the path they were on. She decided to change the subject of interest from herself to others.
She looked around the table and made an observation. "Brothers, what about you guys? Some of you are married but I don't see your wives or children."
Tai Change, Tai Haoyu and Tai Keung were all married but she didn't see their wives or sons.
"They went back to their maternal homes for the national holiday." Grandpa Tai told her.
"Yes, it's the tradition of our family, wives get to celebrate the national holiday with their parents. They can take the children along with them if they want so that's where they went." Grandma Tai added to her husband's explanation. "But, enough about that. Your grandfather has been bragging that you play every musical instrument in the world. Is it really true?"
"Grandfather!!" Alix exclaimed, with a laugh. "Aren't you bragging about me a little too much?"
"Did I lie?" he responded quite unbothered for he had heard the words straight from her mouth.
"Really!" Tai Fong exclaimed.
"No way." Tai Wong, the youngest grandson said.
There were very many music instruments in the world. How could one person play everything?
She nodded and added, "I play games too, Tai Wong. I am an expert at shooting, clearing dungeons and slaying monsters. Whenever you want to play, just call me up and I will carry you."
As she expected, Tai Wong's eyes lit up. Tai Ho Sun had told her that he loved playing games with Tai Jiaan whenever they got the opportunity.
Tai Wong's eyes widened and he looked at her with a new interest and admiration.
"Yes auntie." he answered loudly in his childish voice.
Alix was quite good with children and she liked them. They were more honest with their emotions. When they liked something they said so and when they didn't they did the same.
Her smile for Tai Wong was generous and she told him, "I brought some very tasty ice cream in the gifts, later, you can have some."
It gladdened grandma Tai even more to see her getting along well with Tai Wong. He was a shy boy that didn't get along with many people but he was willing to associate with Lin Alix. Granted, the ice cream and games contributed to the reason why, but all the same, he liked her.
She made a decision immediately. "Pretty baby, what do you think about having a bedroom here or is it too soon?"
