Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 838 The Bomb Buried in the Heart
Chapter 838: Chapter 838 The Bomb Buried in the Heart
Although Xiang Yu found the old man a bit strange, he didn’t think much of it.
A few hurried days passed again. Every morning, students coming and going could see, not far from the main gate on the lawn, two people slowly practicing tai chi.
At first, Xiang Yu’s movements were quite stiff, but gradually he grasped the essentials.
"Your mind is not at peace," the old man said casually as he performed the movements slowly.
Xiang Yu followed the same movements slowly and replied, "No, I feel good now."
"Living requires a goal. Some live for money, others for power. What about you?" the old man asked.
"I live without meaning, just to idle away my time," Xiang Yu replied indifferently.
"Wrong. There is unresolved hatred in your heart, I can see it in your eyes."
"You’re mistaken. I just want to live an ordinary life, and I’m gradually transitioning to that."
"Do you think that’s possible?"
"Of course. I am very calm now and don’t want to be involved in any past matters," Xiang Yu said, continuing his tai chi practice.
The environment made him feel relaxed, as if everything had returned to nature.
"You are calm now, but what if someone provokes you?" the old man asked tentatively.
"How could that be? It’s enough for me not to provoke others," Xiang Yu replied.
"Only by untying the knots in your heart and facing them bravely can you truly calm down. Otherwise, you will never live an ordinary life," the old man said.
"I have no knots," Xiang Yu said, confused.
"Everyone has knots, but you just don’t want to admit it. The deeper you hide them, the more you’ll plant a ticking time bomb within yourself. When you finally realize you can’t untie them, it might be too late."
"I said I don’t have any," Xiang Yu suddenly shouted, somewhat unsettled.
"Untie them. It is much better to do so now than to explode later," the old man said, stopping his movements and looking at Xiang Yu solemnly.
"I don’t have any knots. How do you know I have them?" Xiang Yu shouted.
The old man ignored him and just looked at him quietly.
Xiang Yu gritted his teeth, then fiercely looked at the old man, saying, "He was my good brother, yet he betrayed everyone. What do you want me to do? What should I do? I can’t kill my own brother. He is the elder I respect the most, yet he has been deceiving me, bringing me to this filthy city, living in the most brutal, darkest corners. For what?"
Xiang Yu was like a balloon about to burst. He tried to remain calm, but the old man had poked a hole in it.
Xiang Yu vented thoroughly. He had never spoken these words to Tie Zhuzi or Xiao Xuan, keeping them bottled inside.
On the surface, Xiang Yu seemed calm, but inside he was enduring immense pain.
"Five years. My brothers have been dead for five years, and now I’m told someone betrayed us..." Xiang Yu’s eyes turned blood-red. At that moment, he finally erupted.
And the old man seemed to have been waiting for this moment. Seeing Xiang Yu slightly losing control, he sighed as if relieved.
As long as Xiang Yu could speak about these things, it meant he was gradually becoming aware of reality.
"You said your good brother betrayed you. Do you have evidence?" the old man asked.
"I saw it with my own eyes. He is still alive," Xiang Yu said with a complicated expression. Thinking of Qing Lang’s face, he couldn’t help but tremble.
"Then why are you still alive? He didn’t kill you," the old man looked at Xiang Yu seriously.
"He missed," Xiang Yu replied.
But then, he seemed to have overlooked something. Given Qing Lang’s skills, it was impossible for him to miss.
Xiang Yu spent the most time with Qing Lang. He learned his dagger techniques from him.
Even from a distance of ten meters, if Qing Lang aimed to hit something, he would never miss.
"Why didn’t he kill me?" Xiang Yu mumbled.
Ever since seeing Qing Lang that day, Xiang Yu’s mind had been in turmoil. His preconceived notions plagued him, always believing Qing Lang was the traitor who shouldn’t exist in this world.
"Why didn’t he kill me?" Xiang Yu asked again, looking at the old man, bewildered.
Seeing his expression, the old man shook his head, sighing, "Child, some things are not as you imagine them. What you see is not always true."
Xiang Yu seemed to fall into deep thought, then sat on the grass beside him, contemplating.
He opened his shirt to look again at the scar. Clearly, his chest had been stabbed, yet he survived.
"Qing Lang let me go, not out of sheer luck," Xiang Yu mumbled. He couldn’t understand why, if Qing Lang was a traitor, he would spare his life.
The old man, seeing Xiang Yu sit there pondering, shook his head and returned to the duty room.
Xiang Yu sat there from morning until noon. Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan had long come over to sit beside him, accompanying him.
Then Xiang Yu suddenly stood up, looking at the two and said, "Tell me about that night."
Since waking up, Xiang Yu had never asked about that night’s events. Xiao Xuan thought he didn’t want to know but didn’t understand why he was suddenly asking now.
"Brother, it’s all in the past. Don’t think about it anymore," Xiao Xuan said, frowning.
These days, he saw Xiang Yu in a good state, exercising and studying carefree.
He hoped Xiang Yu would let go of everything and live freely. But how could he know that Xiang Yu had a bomb hidden in his heart?
"Tell me," Xiang Yu said firmly.
Xiao Xuan sighed and then recounted what happened that night, including how the dagger in Xiang Yu’s body was dealt with.
"You’re saying I had stopped breathing at the time, and that dagger stopped my pulse?" Xiang Yu asked, then looked once more at his wound.
Xiao Xuan nodded seriously, then shook his head, "That’s what Sister Wu Yue told me. I don’t really understand."
Xiao Xuan didn’t understand, but Xiang Yu did. Qing Lang once taught him such techniques; he’d just never experimented with it.
"He didn’t intend to kill me," Xiang Yu said, bewildered.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan exchanged glances, uncertain about what Xiang Yu was saying, and felt worried.
"Brother Yu, don’t overthink it. It’s all in the past. I promise such things will never happen again," Tie Zhuzi promised.
Xiang Yu nodded absentmindedly. Now he had a crazy idea, but as soon as it emerged, he quickly dismissed it.
He wondered, if Qing Lang was not dead, could it be that the other brothers were not dead either?
If they weren’t dead, why hadn’t they come to see him? Could it be they had some unspeakable difficulty...
