Chapter 840: Chapter 840: Preparing for Retirement

After Wang Li’s position was replaced, he harbored a grudge and always wanted to bring down He Guisheng. He gathered many people to plead with Wang Hongbin, but Wang Hongbin had made up his mind and dismissed all their opinions.

Wang Li came over today for the same reason.

He had followed Wang Hongbin for five years, loyally obeying his orders, and though he hadn’t achieved much, he had worked hard. Now, Wang Hongbin had kicked him aside, which twisted his mind.

After leaving Wang Hongbin’s room, Wang Li truly felt a strong urge to gather people and kill He Guisheng.

But now he was already just an idle person, and no one would listen to him. Back when He Guisheng held this position, Wang Li had still valued him. But when it was his turn to hold the position, He Guisheng definitely wouldn’t give him the same opportunity.

"Don’t blame me for being ruthless if you’re unkind." Wang Li gritted his teeth, his eyes icy, and finally made a big decision before hurrying off.

In City No. 2, Sun Bo and Su Yongzhen were currently discussing the future development of the racing team.

Just then, Sun Bo received a call saying Wang Hongbin’s people wanted to see him. Sun Bo was usually very busy, and he wouldn’t have met them if they were just anyone.

But since they were Wang Hongbin’s people, he agreed to meet.

The two met in Sun Bo’s office, and when Su Yongzhen saw it was Wang Li, he didn’t show up and only listened from a small room inside.

"What do you want?" Sun Bo asked, sitting seriously in his seat.

Even though Sun Bo was young, he had experienced quite a lot, unconsciously giving off a leadership aura.

"I want to do business with you," Wang Li said directly.

"Are you here on behalf of Wang Hongbin?" Sun Bo asked, puzzled by his counterpart.

Wang Li sneered and shook his head, "That’s exactly what I wanted to tell you. I know you and Wang Hongbin are like fire and water, and I can help you get rid of him."

"What’s the condition?" Sun Bo asked calmly.

Sun Bo’s reaction surprised Wang Li greatly; typically, one would verify his identity and ask why he hated Wang Hongbin.

Yet this young man seemed to believe him straight away, skipping all these checkpoints.

Inwardly, Wang Li couldn’t help but snort derisively; apparently, Sun Bo in front of him was still too naive.

"I want 20 million, and you must help me become the top dog in City No. 5," Wang Li demanded bluntly.

"Deal," Sun Bo said as he stood up and added, "You can leave now."

Wang Li didn’t even react; the negotiation was just too simple. And though Sun Bo was rumored to be very capable, seeing him today, it was as if he were a fool.

"I’ll provide you with intelligence at the time, but don’t forget your promise to me." Wang Li hurriedly said when he saw Sun Bo trying to leave.

"A promise is a promise," Sun Bo replied, paying him no further attention.

Having received Sun Bo’s promise, Wang Li happily left. Since Wang Hongbin couldn’t give him what he wanted, why not change bosses?

As for He Guisheng, Wang Li vowed to deal with that guy one day.

Sun Bo returned to the small room to continue discussing with Su Yongzhen.

"You work efficiently, sending out 20 million so quickly," Su Yongzhen tidied his hair and said.

Both were quite young and had a lot to talk about.

"It’s just a verbal promise, without a contract; everything is nonsense," Sun Bo said.

Sun Bo is a businessman; he only considers things from a commercial perspective. Although he had agreed to Wang Li, without written proof, it couldn’t have any legal effect. And such matters couldn’t have a contract, meaning from the start, Wang Li’s matter could never exist.

Though Wang Li was half a businessman, he was more involved in matters of the underworld. Hence, his actions were mostly based on those unwritten rules.

They valued promises highly, sticking to their word. Thus, he was overjoyed to get Sun Bo’s promise.

After returning to City No. 5, Wang Li was in high spirits and started gathering information about the movements of Wang Hongbin and He Guisheng to keep in contact with Sun Bo.

In his view, he was already a partner with Sun Bo, and once they took down Wang Hongbin, City No. 5 would be his playground.

Time flew by, and another week had passed. During these days, Xiang Yu still ran every day, practicing boxing with the old man.

In the process of boxing, Xiang Yu found the most relief. During this time, he would say things to the old man that others might consider baffling, and the old man always gave guidance at critical moments.

In Xiang Yu’s eyes, the old man was mysterious, surely having an untold past.

After boxing, Xiang Yu would spar with the old man. Now he discovered that he could control his strength better and use force to counter force.

If he were to face himself from a week ago, he would have knocked his previous self down in five minutes.

"Old man, I didn’t expect your boxing style to be quite effective," Xiang Yu grinned as he sat there.

"Of course, my title of ’world’s best’ isn’t for nothing. In the old days, I would beat everyone..."

"What’s for lunch? I’m a bit hungry," Xiang Yu interrupted before the old man could finish, then he stood up and walked into the house.

"Hey, don’t you not believe me, everything I said is true," the old man hurriedly chased after him.

With the old man’s guidance over these days, Xiang Yu felt much more at ease, letting go of everything, including the past.

He hoped to continue living this laid-back life, free of worries and darkness.

Once they were capable of being independent, Xiang Yu planned to leave, leave forever.

He also knew that both Wang Ze and Sun Bo had many things they wanted to discuss with him, but he hadn’t stepped forward, aiming to gradually fade out of their view, making them no longer rely on him.

"Brother Yu," Tie Zhuzi exclaimed, running excitedly to the university gate to find Xiang Yu, "I got two theater tickets; let’s go watch an opera tonight."

The old man was surprised after hearing this and looked at Tie Zhuzi, "Wow, kid, your taste is unexpectedly high." freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Knowing Tie Zhuzi, Xiang Yu coughed, "I can’t appreciate it, so I’m not going."

On hearing this, the old man quickly stepped forward to grab a ticket, "If he’s not going, I will."

"You’re so old, it would be a waste of the tickets," Tie Zhuzi frowned.

"How would it be a waste if I go? Just because you understand it, does it mean I can’t?" the old man retorted, rolling his eyes at Tie Zhuzi.

"No, it’s just that only bored housewives go there, and if we go, we can bring a few back. But you’re so old, who’d want to follow you, and even if you could catch one, are you up to the task?" Tie Zhuzi muttered.

The old man, struck by Tie Zhuzi’s words, looked at him with a face full of black lines, "You little rascal, can’t you have some good thoughts? I may be old, but handling housewives is still not a problem for me."
