Chapter 913: Chapter 913: Modern Deployment of Troops

Just as Xiang Yu was leading his team further in, Zhang Dongxu suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Brother Yu, let’s not go any deeper. Let’s turn back," Zhang Dongxu said seriously.

The further they walked, the more uneasy he felt. He couldn’t shake the sense that there was an ambush ahead. If they kept going, they’d walk right into the enemy’s trap.

"What’s there to be afraid of? It’s going to happen sooner or later," Xiang Yu smiled faintly and continued walking, his tone exuding a powerful confidence.

The members of the Tianlong Squad followed calmly behind him. You could tell what kind of leader someone was by looking at their followers.

Xiang Yu was fearless, and his brothers would follow him forward without hesitation.

At the same time, inside a room in a distant building, Zhuge Xiaoming stood with his hands behind his back, watching calmly. His phone rang—it was Lin Chong calling.

"So, is he dead yet?" Lin Chong asked coolly.

"Not yet. There was a slight delay, but it’s almost done," Zhuge Xiaoming replied.

"Remember, Xiang Yu must not be left alive. If this person isn’t eliminated, he’ll definitely become a major problem in the future. And don’t leave that damn troublemaker of his alive either," Lin Chong instructed.

"I know what to do," Zhuge Xiaoming said.

The two didn’t waste words and hung up. Watching Xiang Yu on the surveillance feed, Zhuge Xiaoming shook his head with a wry smile. "Xiang Yu, Xiang Yu. As much as I’d like to spare your life, your death wish leaves me no choice."

Outside, Xiang Yu led his brothers forward. The further they walked, the more luxurious the surroundings became—proof of Wolf Eye’s wealth.

Even though this place was remote, owning such a vast plot of land and building here spoke volumes about Wolf Eye’s resources.

But these people had made their fortunes through arms dealing. Xiang Yu didn’t even need to dig deep; their crimes were well-known.

Just ask around in the city, and you’d find out that all the major cases were their doing. It was just that the law hadn’t caught up with them before.

But having committed these crimes, they had to pay the price. Xiang Yu was here today to collect.

As they reached a relatively open area, around twenty men suddenly sprang out from the surroundings. Each one held a blade in their hands.

They wielded long, slender Japanese-style swords, and they were all dressed in white clothing with their faces covered.

"What the hell? Japanese ninjas?" Zhang Dongxu couldn’t help but exclaim when he saw their attire.

"You’ve been watching too much Naruto," Xiang Yu retorted, annoyed.

Despite the odd outfits, Xiang Yu was confident these men were Wolf Eye’s creations, not actual ninjas or anything of the sort.

"How should we play this? One-on-one duels like earlier, or should we all jump in together?" Xiang Yu shouted, standing there.

The masked men in white didn’t respond, but after someone gave a command, they charged forward with their swords toward Xiang Yu and his group.

Seeing this, Zhang Dongxu quickly retreated into the crowd. Although he’d received some basic training in the past, he’d forgotten most of it. With his recent weight gain, forget fighting—he’d settle for not holding everyone back.

"Be careful, everyone. These guys aren’t as simple as they look," Xiang Yu called out as he observed how the enemy moved.

Earlier, many members of the Tianlong Squad had picked up iron rods from their previous opponents. Now, armed with these makeshift weapons, they had a slight advantage.

After all, the Tianlong Squad had been professionally trained. When the enemy attacked, they didn’t panic. Instead, they immediately formed a protective circle around Xiang Yu and Zhang Dongxu.

"You don’t need to worry about me," Xiang Yu remarked calmly.

The squad members had already witnessed Xiang Yu’s combat prowess earlier, so they relaxed somewhat.

The men in white began circling the Tianlong Squad at high speed. Their movement was dizzying, creating a disorienting effect.

Seeing this, Zhang Dongxu’s face paled. He turned to Xiang Yu and said, "Brother Yu, among Wolf Eye’s ranks, there’s a strategist named Zhuge Xiaoming. He’s incredibly clever, always studying classic battle tactics and formations. I think this setup is his doing."

Xiang Yu felt exasperated. "What era are we living in? Who even does this anymore? Just use a machine gun and mow them down—problem solved."

But since the formation was already set, he had no choice but to break it.

"This Xiaoming guy you mentioned—does he have some kind of mental illness?" Xiang Yu asked, watching the white-clad men sprinting around.

Zhang Dongxu sighed helplessly. Back when he was part of Wolf Eye, he’d heard about this Zhuge Xiaoming’s capabilities and his penchant for formations. Now, he was experiencing it firsthand.

"What kind of formation is this?" Xiang Yu shouted aloud.

No one answered. After circling for a while, the white-clad men began trying to split up Xiang Yu’s group.

Seeing this, Xiang Yu let out a cold snort. He bent down, picked up a nearby brick, and hurled it at the runners.

One of them wasn’t paying attention and took the brick squarely on the head, letting out a cry before collapsing.

The other runners hesitated briefly but resumed their movements, while the injured man was dragged out of the formation.

Seeing this, Xiang Yu sneered, then took a step forward.

"Brother Yu, be careful!" Zhang Dongxu called out anxiously.

Xiang Yu chuckled and shouted loudly, "Mr. Xiaoming, are you nearby? Why don’t you come out and stop hiding? What’s with these clowns in white running around?"

As he spoke, he moved closer to the circle’s edge. Two of the white-clad men suddenly lunged at him, slashing toward his head and legs. Xiang Yu quickly jumped back, but two more men closed in with their blades, forcing him to retreat.

As Xiang Yu backed away, two more white-clad fighters came at him relentlessly, their swords aiming for him each time.

Watching this, Xiang Yu couldn’t help but marvel. Maybe those ancient formations weren’t just myths after all.

In Xiang Yu’s mind, old military tactics had always seemed like nonsensical games people made up. But now, he was beginning to realize that some of those strategies carried real merit.

He had initially planned to break through the formation, but the white-clad men repeatedly blocked his path.

If these fighters were scattered, they’d be nothing. But together, they moved like a single entity, a giant machine functioning as one.

Forced back inside the formation, Xiang Yu acknowledged inwardly that Zhuge Xiaoming did indeed have some skills. But even that wasn’t enough to trap him.

At that moment, one of the squad members couldn’t hold back anymore. Gripping his iron rod, he charged forward.

He swung the rod at one of the runners, but since the enemy was in motion, his attack missed. Before he could make another swing, the opponent’s blade had already sliced toward his shoulder.

The squad member tried to retreat, but it was too late...
