Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 112: An Attention Hungry Actress
Chapter 112: An Attention Hungry Actress
Brooke’s highest level of socialization was when she worked at Luther’s company. Aside that, she spent a good portion of her life indoors, especially after marrying Ethan, who made sure to keep her at home.
So when she arrived at a bar, she was partially excited and partially scared at the outcome.
"Are you okay?" Thane’s arm rested at the small of her back, steadying her and reminding her of his presence.
Brooke swallowed and nodded, she looked down at the body fitted black dress that barely went over her knee, Jessica ran out to buy for the occasion.
Leaning in he said, "You know, we could go to-" he started off, but was cut short by Danny who returned from his phone call and walked past them towards the entrance.
"Come on people, there are less than five hours till Friday night is over." He said, slapping the invisible watch on his wrist.
Brooke looked to Thane to finish what he was going to say, but he didn’t say anything, and went ahead to open the door for her.
His employees watched with her jaws dropped as their stoic boss actively tried to impress his wife.
Brooke went inside, and was immediately caught off guard by the number of people standing under red and blue lighting.
Jessica hooked her arm in Brooke’s and passed her an all knowing smile, "Mrs Grayson, come with me, I know the best spot in this place." She said, excitedly tugging Brooke inside.
Thane watched helplessly with his hand hanging in the air, as his wife was taken to one of the tables at the edge of the bar.
"Boss, are you sure you’re up for this?" Danny asked, he leaned in closer, "You’re not supposed to be in spaces like this-"
Thane cut him off, "I’m fine, the tests we ran today proved that." He defended, disclosing why the tests took longer than expected earlier that day.
Danny passed a worried look to his brother Lance, handing over the convincing to him. Lance tried to speak to their boss, but Thane went ahead to order a drink from the counter for Brooke.
Watching him walk away earned a sigh from Lance. "Those tests we took, he wasn’t fully in the clear, was he?"
Danny shook his head, "The treatment has been regressive recently, his condition isn’t getting better. And he knows that better than anyone."
"What do we do?"
Danny rested a hand on his brother’s shoulder, "We’ll have to watch him closely, anything could happen tonight, that’s why we had Jessica take Mrs Grayson away." He reminded him.
Lance nodded, "I fear the boss would even drink poison if she made it for him."
Danny wanted to laugh but he knew it was no joking matter. He looked to the counter and saw his boss holding two glasses in his hands.
The brothers sauntered over to him and took each glass off his hand, and immediately drank out of it.
"Boss! It’s our first night out together, let’s keep the drinks coming." Danny urged, taking a big gamble when he excitedly wrapped an arm around Thane’s shoulder.
Lance, guided them to the counter and hinted the bartender to open a tab.
"I’m fine, you two can go ahead and drink, I’m going to sit with my wife." Thane announced, getting up.
Both brothers blocked his sides, "Sir, I don’t think that’s a good idea, look over there." Lance said, averting Thane’s gaze to Brooke, who was in the middle of examining the shot glasses on their table.
"Mrs Grayson looks like she’s having fun, do you want to intrude?" Danny asked.
Thane took offense, "You call spending time with my wife, intruding?" He lashed out, scaring the living daylight out of Danny.
He dry coughed, "No, not at all sir. T-That’s not what I meant..."
His brother Lance interjected, "He means that Mrs Grayson must not have a lot of female friends to go out with. That’s why she wanted to come here with Jess, but if you go over now, she won’t be able to go all out in front of you."
Thane frowned, but he could picture what they were saying. He wanted to deny it, but he had been of the opinion that Brooke did not feel comfortable around him. Even after all he tried to make her relax, she just never seemed to be able to.
At this realization, he sat on the bar stool and decided to give her some space that night.
Of course, while he kept his gaze on her like a hawk, scaring all the men who tried to approach their table.
Cassie was in the middle of getting dressed to go out, when her mother came rushing inside her bedroom, holding her phone.
"Cassie, you have to see this! Look!" Serena raised her voice, passing her phone to her daughter. She was so paranoid about the occurrence happening that she failed to ask where Cassie was headed.
Especially with her pregnancy starting to show.
"What is it?" Cassie’s asked in a prickly tone as she took the phone, her eyes lazily darted to the picture of ten similar looking black bags to her designer bag.
Underneath she read the caption, "How attention hungry must this actress be to carry around a fake designer bag? If you don’t believe me, look at this, there are only ten of this design in the world, and I have all ten. Some people just don’t know how to stay in their place, smh..."
Cassie’s face flushed with anger. "What the hell?!" She quickly tapped on the person’s profile, only to see it was a newly created account, and with already over twenty thousand followers!
Serena tapped her, "What do we do? She knows the truth, that the bag is a fake."
Cassie laughed, "What truth? Think mother, do you really think it’s easy to have all ten of this bag? I’m sure this woman must know someone who can make replicas too."
Serena was sweating buckets, "But, what if-"
"Just look, she doesn’t even have a profile picture, and look at this handle, B.G? Who does she think she is? She’s just a troll looking for attention." Cassie said, in her usual nonchalant composure.
But the fear her mother felt was unrivaled. "Still, we should make sure. Right?"
Cassie grinned, and reached for her phone on the dresser, "Don’t worry, there’s nothing a live stream won’t fix." she said, her lips twisted into a mischievous grin.
