Chapter 543: 543. Aftermath (2)

Knock! Knock!

After knocking, they all entered Uncle Darien’s office.

Uncle Darien looked at the few people in front of him and grinned. "I take that the mission is going very well."

"It is good." Dylan shrugged and then sat down while pulling Anna to sit down beside him. "But seriously, did you send me and Anna there to be nothing but spectator?"

He and Anna barely made any move. If anything, only Anna made some move to stop some people from escaping, but if it had to be said, she barely did anything. It was not like the battle with those big mutated animals where she had to fight without exception.

On the other hand, they were only watching as those people continued to fight and fight again.

They fought against each other.

Aside from some people who tried to run away but failed, the rest were still there and would be dealt with by Second Uncle Kenan who stayed behind.

That was what they thought.

"Just in case," Uncle Darien replied with a shrug. "It’s good that nothing happened in the end, but if something did happen or the fight ended up involving many other people outside, then I would like to let you stop them."

Stop them?

Dylan nodded. "I see."

If these people were stupid enough to involve many others in their battle, then Dylan had no problem to step forward and settle it with his own ability. But since these people were quite sensible and didn’t really involve others, then Dylan was quite satisfied with it.

He would not force them to engage with others in various battles either.

"It’s quite a long drama," Anna said. "We also only found out that Brenda has some kind of ability to see the future."

"Yes, and she uses it for herself." Uncle Darien sighed.

But there was nothing wrong with what Brenda did. After all, if they had some kind of ability, their first thought was to use it for their own benefit and then their family members. Only afterwards would they think of the bigger picture.

There were very few people who would think of the bigger picture first rather than their own self.

The others only shrugged at Uncle Darien’s words.

Even their own ability was used for themselves rather than others, so they had no right to judge others.

"The strange thing is that she seems to hate Sean so much." Uncle Darien looked at the information that Dylan gave to him. "From what I know, the relationship between the two families should be pretty good."

"There might be some other things behind that’s not visible to the public," Dylan replied.

For some personal matters, there were times when things were kept hidden and not allowed to let others found.

Dylan would not be surprised if Sean and Brenda had some other relationship before the change of the world or there were other negotiations in secret. After all, it was not like they monitored someone 24 hours a day.

"Indeed." Uncle Darien sighed and nodded.

Anna patted Kitty, who came to her and looked at Uncle Darien. "Is there anything else you want us to do?"

"No need. Thank you very much for your help so far," Uncle Darien replied with a smile.

With Dylan and Anna in his family, he felt really reassured to leave them to do various things.

The two of them nodded and then walked out, leaving only Uncle Matthias and Uncle Darien in the office.

The two middle aged men looked at each other and sighed.

"Sean said that he will be responsible for the attack and so on. I think he’s quite responsible and will follow his words, but just in case, I’ll send someone to follow him," Uncle Matthias said.

Uncle Darien glanced at Uncle Matthias and nodded. "Sean is a very talented and good man. If only he’s not stimulated and schemed so badly like this, the ending might have been different."

"Indeed."

The crazy Brenda from the Davis Family just made Uncle Matthias wanted to sigh. Uncle Darien told Uncle Matthias about what happened before their arrival and also the conversation between Brenda and Sean.

Even if Dylan and Anna were a distance away from these two, they were still able to hear the conversation of these two.

They didn’t completely understand, but they guessed that Uncle Darien or the others might find the information here to be important. After all, it would involve the situation of the base as a whole.

"It seems I can only ask Alicia to find out whether they’ll stay loyal or not." Uncle Matthias sighed.

The only one who could see the future right now was only Alicia and Uncle Matthias could only let her be the one to do this task. After all, he didn’t trust anyone else and didn’t want to do it either.

It was not that easy to trust others.

At the very least, Alicia would be able to see the future as long as she thought about it before she went to sleep at night. Only in this way would they have some precaution about what Sean planned to do.

If that Sean planned to rebel....

Then they could only strike first and deal with Sean before he could do anything that was detrimental to the base.

It might be cruel, but it was their way to survive.

"That would be a good idea." Uncle Dylan nodded in agreement. "Don’t forget to let Kenan knew about the result if it’s not good."

"I know."

Now, there were only three leaders in the base and their workload also increased a lot. The work that was previously managed by the Davis Family and the Mason Family would be divided by the three of them.

Thinking about it, they felt that the future would be filled with a lot of work for them without any rest whatsoever.

Just thinking about it made them feel tired and wanted to sleep instead of working.
