Seeing his authority so openly flouted with Kado not only escaping his punishment but now standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the other two rebels Samba’s face contorted with pure rage.

His earlier composure his calm and collected attitude shattered completely. He was furious.

"What are you all doing?!" he roared his voice booming across the dormitory courtyard like thunder.

He directed his furious glare not just at his own Red Team members but at all the upperclassmen all four of the powerful factions. "What are you waiting for?! Are you just going to stand there and let these three first-years insult all of us?!"

His angry words were the spark that ignited the powder keg.

Spurred into action by Samba’s furious command all the upperclassmen—the representatives and the rank-and-file members of every single group—began to surge forward.

They moved as one a huge wave of hostile intent directed at the three figures who were standing defiant in the center of the courtyard.

It was all of them against Adam, Void and Kado.

Adam’s attention shifted to the advancing mob of angry students.

Without even glancing back at the crowd of terrified first-years who were huddled behind him he called out to them.

His voice was clear and ringing. It easily cut through the rising clamor the shouts of the upperclassmen.

"If I defeat all of these so-called group members," he declared his tone one of absolute unshakeable confidence "will all of you then join my group The New Warriors? Will you stand with me?"

Hearing this audacious challenge this incredible boast Void too turned his head slightly.

He looked back at the first-year students with a curious almost amused expression on his face.

He wanted to see how they would react.

The newcomers the first-years hearing Adam’s bold proclamation stared at the three lone figures.

Their expressions were a mixture of fear for their safety and a dawning incredulous awe. Could one person really defeat all of them?

Kado however was more practical. Without taking his eyes off the approaching mob of upperclassmen he growled to Adam "Are you completely sure that the three of us can actually defeat all of these seniors? There are a lot of them. And they are strong."

Adam simply smiled. He took a single step forward positioning himself slightly ahead of Void and Kado.

He was facing the oncoming wave alone. "I never said," he replied his voice calm and almost dangerously serene "that I would be needing any help from either of you."

With that Adam extended a single hand palm facing the oncoming wave of angry students.

"Come forth," he commanded his voice imbued with a strange resonant power a command that seemed to echo in the very air itself. "Light."

The moment the words left his lips a brilliant golden light began to glow in front of his outstretched hand.

It coalesced rapidly it gathered together forming a perfect spherical orb of pure radiant energy. It was beautiful but it also felt very powerful.

The sight of this golden orb caused Void’s eyes to widen in utter shock and complete disbelief.

A single whispered name escaped his lips a name filled with a sudden overwhelming emotion a mix of hope and sorrow. "Light... Magic..." He stared at Adam his expression shifting from amusement to an intense serious scrutiny.

Could this boy... could he be a Spirit Host for a Light Spirit? he wondered his mind racing trying to connect this impossible sight with the fragmented painful memories of his past.

He thought of his own lost partner Magic who had been a Light Spirit.

But before Void could delve any further into this startling possibility before he could think more about what this meant the golden orb in front of Adam’s hand began to intensify.

The light grew brighter and more concentrated.

It was as if all the light in the courtyard was being drawn inwards compressed into an ever-denser point of incandescent energy.

The orb pulsed with a power that felt raw primordial and utterly immense.

It began to look less like a magical construct a simple spell and more like a miniature captive sun. Its brilliance was almost too painful to look at directly. Everyone had to squint their eyes.

The upperclassmen who had been charging forward with righteous fury with the intent to punish the three rebels now faltered.

They slowed down.

The sight of the glowing golden orb the sheer overwhelming power that was radiating from it stopped them in their tracks.

The representatives of the four factions their faces now etched with a mixture of surprise and genuine alarm reacted instantly. They knew this was a serious threat.

Three of them—Tuck of the Golden Team Shin of the Black Team and the representative of the Blue Team—shot their hands forward.

In unison they each erected a defensive barrier. A translucent shield of shimmering energy a magical wall appeared in front of their respective groups.

They were trying to protect their members from the attack they knew was coming. Samba the leader of the Red Team who was at the front was caught off guard and did not have time to put up a shield.

Adam’s preparations were now complete. The miniature sun in front of his hand was now spinning rapidly. It had become a disc of pure blinding light. It was humming with an incredible contained power.

Then he released it.

The light attack shot forward at a speed that was impossible to track. It moved faster than the eye could follow a searing lance of golden energy. There was no visible trajectory, no discernible path to see.

There was only a fleeting afterimage a brilliant line of light that momentarily seared itself onto the retinas of everyone watching.

It marked the brief explosive journey of the attack. It was aimed directly at the heart of the unified advancing front of the upperclassmen. It was going to hit them all.
