Manaless Mage-Chapter 234: A true monster…
Chapter 234: A true monster...
He had expected the spell to simply detonate just like the last one, but what he didn’t expect was for the crystals to explode into shimmering light particles.
He had to admit though, they were really beautiful.
The way they swayed gently in the air, reflecting the radiant light within them, was really enchanting, like a couple of tiny stars.
However, Harry knew better than to let his guard down due to their beauty.
It was clearly meant to cloud his vision, in order to distract him from evading the next attack.
’But that won’t work.’ Harry thought, immediately focusing his perception on his surroundings.
While he was still focusing to decipher Susan’s next attack, a few of the light particles gently fell on him, slowly sinking into his skin.
And to his surprise, a notification suddenly flashed across his eyes.
[Unfamiliar mana particles detected within host!]
[Unfamiliar mana particles absorbed!]
[+3000EXP]
’What?!’ Harry thought, his eyes narrowing slightly. ’Unfamiliar mana particles...’
All of a sudden, he felt a sharp tingling sensation at the back of his head, warning him of impeding danger.
Swoosh!
In the next second, a powerful slash wave of light abruptly shot towards him from the side, slicing through the air at insane speed.
Without wasting anytime, Harry swiftly moved to the side, successfully dodging the light slash which flew past him.
The attack crashed into the barrier in the distance, immediately crumbling into tiny white particles.
’That was close.’ Harry thought, his eyes narrowing in the direction the attack flew from.
He was already starting to understand what was going on.
The light particles floating in the air weren’t just there to cloud his vision, they also greatly hindered his perception, which was why he didn’t sense that attack until after it was launched.
And based on the notification he got earlier, those particles that touched his body were meant to affect him in some other way.
However, since he didn’t have any mana core, they were simply absorbed into EXP by the system.
’Does that mean I’m practically immune to de-buff spells?’ He couldn’t help but wonder, his eyes lighting up with glee.
"Exploding star." Susan’s voice softly echoed in the air, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Twiish!
A white crystal abruptly shot out towards him from the front, which Harry easily dodged by stepping to the side.
Boom!!
The light crystal crashed into the ground instead, instantly going off in a brilliant explosion of light.
Swiish!!
Twoosh!!
Fwissh!!
However, three more light crystals suddenly blasted at him, rapidly closing him on him from the sides.
"Wind Blades." Harry muttered, immediately conjuring three wind blades which hovered in front of him.
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
He swiftly flicked his fingers at the incoming attacks, and the wind blades instantly shot towards them with rapid speed.
Fwoosh!
Boom!
Boom!
The blades effortlessly cleaved through the crystals, causing them to explode into tiny light fragments.
’A spell that restricts the opponents vision, as well as places a kind of de-buff on them...’ Harry thought, his eyes drifting to light particles falling all over his body.

[+2200EXP]
Numerous notification kept flashing across his eyes, as the system wasted no time in converting them all to EXP for his benefit.
’The spell sure is powerful, and good at cornering opponents.’ Harry thought, swiftly ducking, dodging another light crystal which flew above him.
’But...’ He thought, placing his hand on the ground. ’It’s useless against me.’
Thoom!
’Energy Splash!’ A thin wave of energy suddenly bursted out of his palm, rapidly spreading across the floor of the stage.
The light particles floating in the air immediately vanished into thin air, clearing the whole stage for all to see.
"Huh?!" Susan muttered in surprise, as her spell was abruptly cancelled, revealing her position to Harry.
’Found you.’ Harry thought, his eyes locking with Susan’s who was standing across him.
His lips slowly curled into a smirk, and he immediately dashed towards Susan, propelling himself through the air with a small burst of energy.
He swiftly reappeared behind Susan, sending out a full-powered punch towards her abdomen.
However, the Elementalist quickly flew up in the air, using the wings on her back to boost her speed.
Due to this, she was able to escape the punch, which connected with the empty air instead.
"Huh?" Harry thought, his brows furrowing in surprise. ’She dodged me again?’
Meanwhile, Susan hurriedly distanced herself from Harry, utilizing her wings to balance herself in the air.
Before, all she could use the light wings to do was hover in the air, but after the intense training she did, she could now use it more freely.
She could even fly with it now, although, it was only for short periods, of her mana would start plummeting.
Nonetheless, her long she was able to keep up her flight wasn’t what currently occupied her mind.
She had a bigger question...
’Did he cancel my spell...?’ She thought, her eyes still trembling in shock as she stared at Harry. ’Is that even possible?’
In the first place, something had already felt strange ever since she unleashed that spell.
The spell’s effect was to severely dim the perception and vision of whoever was within its range, and the light particles floating around were meant to continuously wear down their strength.
It was supposed to be the perfect counter for someone like Harry, who not only had insane physical strength and speed, but also fearsome elemental prowess.
However, even when it was active, Harry was still somehow able to escape all her attacks, despite the light particles continuously falling on his skin.
’It doesn’t make a—’ Her thoughts were immediately cut off, as Harry suddenly charged towards her once more.
Within an instant, he closed in on the Elementalist, thrusting his right fist towards her abdomen.
’Here it comes!’ Susan thought, and quickly tried flying higher.
However, Harry abruptly halted his fist just as it was about to connect to her abdomen.
"Lightning Ball." A small ball of lightning immediately materialised over his left palm, crackling violently with blue electricity.
Blitz!!
Harry’s lips curled into a smirk, as he suddenly blasted the lightning ball towards Susan’s face.
Blitzzz!!
Boom!
The lightning ball instantly closed in on the Elementalist’s face, slamming into her head with immense force before detonating into an explosion of lightning,
"Arrgh!!" Susan shouted in pain, as the hall exploded right on her face, sending ferocious electricity coursing through her head.
The force behind the explosion instantly sent her flying through her air, with smoke slowly rising up from her head.
She kept fluttering her wings behind her, trying hard to at least regain her balance before she crashed into the floor.
However, Harry didn’t plan on giving her the chance.
"Lightning whip." He muttered, stretching his hand to the side.
Blitz!
A long whip of lightning rapidly materialized in the middle of his right hand, crackling violently with lightning.
Twoosh!!
Harry swiftly swung the whip forward, and the whip immediately whipped through the air, leaving small trails of electricity in the air.
Blitzz!
Swoosh!!
The whip reached Susan in an instant, coiling tightly around one of her leg.
"Argh!" Susan grunted, as the jagged edges of the whip dug deeply into her skin, sending sharp jolts of electricity through her legs.
She quickly tried freeing herself using another spell, however, Harry suddenly pulled on the whip, forcefully pulling her body alone with it.
"Ugh..." She let out a light grunt of annoying, trying desperately to release herself from the grip of the lightning whip.
’Whatever! I’ll just attack first!!’ She thought, hurriedly channeling her mana as she closed in on Harry.
Zap!
"Lightning Stun." Harry mumbled, blue sparks rapidly flickering around his other hand.
Without wasting anytime, he thrusted his palm towards her, with lightning cracking violently all around his fist.
"Shield of light!!" Susan hurriedly casted another spell, summoning a thin shield of light in front of her body.
However—
Crack!
Harry fingers easily tore through the shield, shattering it into pieces the moment they made contact.
He swiftly grabbed unto her left wrist, releasing the whip around her legs before swinging her to the side with force.
Blam!
"Ugh!" Susan grunted in pain, as her back crashed into the ground, bouncing a few times before finally sliding to a halt.
The edges of her wings broke off due to the crash, rapidly crumbling into tiny white fragments, which disappeared into thin air.
’He grabbed my arm... how dare he?’ She thought, slowly rubbing her left wrist as she got back up on her feet.
"Damn it..." She mumbled, gnashing her teeth in frustration.
Although she didn’t want to admit it, she was rapidly starting to run out of options of how else to attack Harry.
It was as if nothing was effective, no matter what it was. Her blessing, shields, and even her de-buff spells... they were all useless against him.
She spent majority of her life in the academy being called her ’monster’ due to her high talent, however, those who called her that didn’t know.
They had never experienced how it felt to face a true ’monster.’
