Married For Now-Chapter 125: A BURDEN
Chapter 125: A BURDEN
"WHAT DO you think, Sera-ya?" Kim Heedo asked after explaining the situation involving Lee Junsu. "Do you also think Lee Junsu is capable of doing all of that?"
Of course, he shared that problem with Hong Sera with Park Sohee’s permission.
Heedo had set up a meeting with Hong Sera because the two of them had something important to discuss.
That didn’t mean he wouldn’t be by Park Sohee’s side during that moment, of course.
Hence, he decided to meet Hong Sera in the same café where his husband was currently waiting for his mother.
I’m not stupid like Sihyuk Hyung-nim to rent the entire place.
To be extra safe, Heedo instructed Park Sohee’s ’shadow bodyguards’ to pose as customers. The bodyguards were wearing civilian clothes, hence they didn’t stand out.
"I can’t say for sure, but I think Lee Junsu is acting strange."
Hong Sera’s comment snapped Heedo out of his idle thoughts.
"Strange?"
"Heedo-ya, you can’t be this dense," Hong Sera scolded him with a disapproving look on his face. "Lee Junsu pushed you away as if the very thought of being associated with you disgusted him. You even went against your grandfather and was firm about refusing to marry Sohee Oppa in the past. Then, during the start of your marriage with Sohee Oppa, you still tried to get back with him after he got himself a boyfriend."
Oh, dear.
Heedo couldn’t help but flinch after being reminded of how crazy obsessed he was with Lee Junsu in the past.
Worse, his stupid actions probably hurt Park Sohee back then.
I’m glad Sohee Hyung didn’t dump my sorry ass.
"So, why would Lee Junsu suddenly send you those messages?" Hong Sera asked, frowning. "It’s not like you two agreed to be friends or something."
Right?
"So, I understand why Sohee Oppa thinks Lee Junsu is being suspicious," Hong Sera added, sipping her coffee before speaking again. "The fact that Lee Junsu cloned Sohee Oppa’s phone is already strange, Heedo-ya. You shouldn’t have let it slide."
Heedo sighed while shaking his head. "I also didn’t want to let it slide, Sera-ya. But Sohee Hyung didn’t want me to confront Lee Junsu about it."
"How about investigating it behind Sohee Oppa’s back?"
"Do you want Sohee Hyung to dump me? I’ve already done many things behind Hyung’s back. He forgave me every time, but I don’t think Sohee Hyung’s forgiveness is unlimited."
"Then should I do it?"
"Huh?"
"Sohee Oppa gave you the permission to share your marital problems with me," Hong Sera said, a glint of determination sparking in her eyes. "I know that doesn’t give me the right to meddle, but I can’t stay still after hearing about it."
"So, you’re going to investigate what’s up with Lee Junsu?"
"Yes."
"What if Sohee Hyung gets mad at you?"
"Sohee Oppa is weak against kids younger than him, so I don’t think Oppa will get mad at me for long," Hong Sera said confidently. "If I apologized properly, I’m sure Oppa will forgive me."
"So, you’re going to take advantage of Sohee Hyung’s kindness?"
"Do you hate my plan?"
"I’ll apologize to Hyung with you, so please investigate Lee Junsu for me."
"Yes, I will. But are you really okay with this?" Hong Sera asked worriedly. "Lee Junsu... he used to be so important to you."
"That’s true, but Sohee Hyung is more important to me now," Heedo confessed awkwardly. He wasn’t shy with his feelings for Park Sohee, but he just felt a bit embarrassed to admit that to one of his closest friends. "I don’t Sohee Hyung to be hurt by the person I loved in the past. It will make me feel bad that he met such a person because of me."
"Heedo-ya, whatever Lee Junsu does is not your fault," Hong Sera said sternly. "I don’t think Sohee Oppa would like it if you take responsibility of your ex-boyfriend’s actions. That’s exactly why Sohee Oppa didn’t tell you about Lee Junsu cloning his phone."
Ah, that made sense.
Actually, Heedo already knew that at the back of his head.
I just really feel sorry towards Sohee Hyung since he has to go through so much bullshit because of my past.
Fortunately, Hong Sera knocked some sense into him.
She can be a tough cookie if she wants to.
"Sera-ya."
"Yeah?"
"You should show this attitude to your boyfriend— stop letting Han Raehyun and Jin Minki walk all over you," Heedo scolded Hong Sera. "You’re not a pushover."
Hong Sera originally had a strong personality.
She just mellowed down after what happened to Jin Minki.
"Thank you for worrying about my relationship, but I can still manage. I’ll tell you if I can’t handle it on my own anymore," Hong Sera promised, and then she changed the topic. "Anyway, the mayor of city is the youngest son-in-law of Jusik Food Industrial Company."
Heedo raised an eyebrow. "The company that made Jjang Ramyeon? One of the most popular ramyeon brands in the country?"
"Yep. Mayor Kang Doosik is the husband of President Jang Aejung— the youngest daughter of Chairman Jang Myung-bak."
"President Jang Aejung is a nice ahjumma. She’s married to that mayor?"
"This is confidential, but it’s been a year since they separated. President Jang Aejung hasn’t filed a divorce yet because she didn’t want to hurt her husband’s political career. But according to the report I received, President Jang Aejung gave Mayor Kang an ultimatum. We don’t know about that, but I can confidently say that the Jusik Food Industrial Company won’t go after your throat if you get in conflict with Mayor Kang. You have a valid reason for doing so anyway."
Heedo would still fight the mayor even if it meant going against Jusik Food Industrial Company— a company as big as a chaebol family. However, it was a relief that he wouldn’t earn the anger of the Jangs if he went after Mayor Kang Doosik’s throat.
It’s not good to have too many enemies when I haven’t cemented my place yet as the next successor of Ilsung Group after my father.
"If you need more help, just tell me, Heedo-ya."
Heedo just nodded, and then he got distracted when he saw a middle-aged woman sit across from Park Sohee.
Oh, that must be Sohee Hyung’s mother.
He got nervous for his husband.
Fighting, Sohee Hyung.
"She looks cold," Hong Sera commented, sipping her coffee. "I’m glad Sohee Oppa didn’t inherit her cold exterior."
Heedo nodded in agreement, silently observing Park Sohee’s face.
The mother-and-son tandem was already talking, but the conversation was obviously anything but cheerful.
They look like they can’t wait to get away from each other.
And then Park Sohee’s expression suddenly changed.
Like Hyung is about to cry.
Heedo immediately got up and walked towards his husband.

SOHEE couldn’t remember all the excuses that he had made up in his mind to justify his mother abandoning him.
"Eomma is afraid of my father."
"Eomma must be busy fixing her life."
"Eomma has to be struggling on her own."
"Eomma will come back for me once she’s stable."
"There’s no way Eomma has forgotten about me, right?"
Those were the things Sohee kept telling himself during the time he was still waiting for his mother to come back for him.
He only stopped having those thoughts when he started working to make a living.
Even so, by then, he had already convinced himself that his mother was having it worse than him. That helped him endure, and that stopped him from blaming his mother’s neglect for his bad life.
Hence, Sohee felt bitter when he found out from Kim Heedo that his mother was actually living a good life with her new family.
And Eomma didn’t even suffer that long since she got remarried immediately.
He questioned himself why his mother didn’t come back for him.
Now I know why.
"It’s a burden to have an Omega son since your kind requires your guardian to be extra vigilant— especially around Alphas."
Oh.
Oh.
"So, I was the problem all along," Sohee said bitterly, letting out a dull laugh. "You abandoned me not because of my father, but because you couldn’t be bothered raising your needy Omega son."
"I tried— I actually came back for you once."
Sohee was surprised to hear that from his mother. "You did? When?"
"It was around the time you manifested as an Omega."
Ah, so that’s how Eomma knew I was an Omega even though I hadn’t manifested as one yet when she abandoned me.
"When I found out that you awakened as an Omega, I did my research," his mother said, her gaze and voice remained cold. "The medicines and inhibitors that an Omega needs are expensive. Moreover, since you’re a male Omega, you’re likely to be preyed upon by Alphas. As your mother, I was supposed to protect you from that kind of threat. And I didn’t think I could handle all of that. I was already used to a quiet life at that time— I didn’t want anything or anyone disrupting the peace I worked so hard for."
"Not even your own son?"
"I’m sorry, but we didn’t have a deep bond as a mother and son, did we? I came back for you because I wanted to be a good person. But, ultimately, I couldn’t do it for the child of the person I hate most in the world."
Haaah.
Some people really don’t deserve to be parents.
Sohee knew that his mother wasn’t a good person.
But he still wasn’t prepared by the pain that his mother’s harsh words brought him.
He hated that he had become soft ever since his life went from ’difficult mode’ to ’easy mode.’ Hence, he couldn’t stop his tears from falling.
I’ve truly become a crybaby.
Sohee didn’t want to cry in front of his mother who didn’t deserve to see his tears, so he was about to get up and walk out.
However, he stopped when someone gently draped a jacket over his head. frёewebnoѵēl.com
The pheromones that came from the jacket immediately calmed him down.
My favorite scent in the world.
"Sohee Hyung, are you done here?"
Aww.
Sohee lifted his head, and was relieved to see Kim Heedo’s worried face.
He couldn’t say anything because of the lump in his throat, so he just nodded in response to his husband’s question.
"Alright, Hyung. Stay with Hong Sera in the meantime and wait for me," Kim Heedo said while rubbing his back, and then he turned to Sohee’s mother. "I’ll take it from here."
Huh?
Sohee was shocked to hear that.
Heedo wants to talk to my mother?
For what?
