Chapter 46: CONFESSION TIME (2)

"HYUNG, I’m done interrogating him— you can exact your revenge now."

Sohee smiled when Kim Heedo handed him a pillow. "Are you sure the Navi Group won’t come after my neck if I hurt their precious grandson?"

"This is just a children’s fight, Hyung. And boys get rough with each other from time to time," Kim Heedo assured him. "If the Navi Group meddles, then the Ilsung Group will also get involved."

"The Navi Group won’t retaliate. I take full responsibility for this mess," Lim Jinwook said, still lying down on the bed. And then he shut his eyes tight. "Go ahead, Park Sohee. Smother me with that pillow. Let’s just get this over and done with."

Sohee turned to Kim Heedo, and then Kim Heedo nodded encouragingly.

Okay, let’s do this.

"No hard feelings, Lim Jinwook."

And then Sohee smacked Lim Jinwook in the face as hard as he could.

"Aw!" Lim Jinwook complained, and then he covered his face with his hands. "That hurts!"

"It won’t be revenge if it didn’t hurt, duh."

"Hyung, I thought you were going to use the pillow to smother him?" Kim Heedo asked curiously. "Why did you change your mind?"

"I decided to call it quits with a smack and a question since I’m curious about one thing," Sohee said, putting his hands on his waist to assert dominance. "Lim Jinwook, get up. You’re obliged to answer my question."

Lim Jinwook let out a sigh, but he got up and knelt on the bed. "What do you want to know, Park Sohee?"

"I’m older than you, rascal."

"What do you want to know, Sohee Hyung-nim?"

"Why did you tolerate Ho Changmin’s craziness all this time?" Sohee asked bluntly. "Only for you to throw him under the bus."

"I loved him," Lim Jinwook answered without missing a beat. "So, I stupidly supported him when he said he was just getting rid of Lee Junsu’s competitions."

"What?" Kim Heedo asked curiously. "He attacked all my previous hook-ups to get rid of Lee Junsu’s "competitions?""

"You have to ask Ho Changmin since I never really understood his twisted motivation," Lim Jinwook said. "I just helped him erase his tracks because I didn’t want him to get in trouble. But when he almost killed his last victim, that was when I decided to end our relationship. I realized that I wasn’t helping him by being his accomplice."

Ah, so that’s why they broke up.

Sohee glanced at Kim Heedo.

As expected, my husband is in deep thought since Lim Jinwook mentioned Lee Junsu.

But Sohee wasn’t surprised, though.

After all, Lim Jinwook’s confession made one thing crystal clear.

Ho Changmin is obsessed with Lee Junsu and not Kim Heedo.

***

KIM HEEDO felt like a fool while staring at Ho Changmin.

I should have known.

Ho Changmin looked very similar to Lee Junsu— but nothing was natural about it.

Ho Changmin went under the knife to have Lee Junsu’s face.

Ho Changmin started dressing up and acting like Lee Junsu.

Why did I think he was obsessed with me? It was Lee Junsu all along. Ho Changmin only wanted me because I belonged to Lee Junsu before.

"Are you not going to start questioning me?"

Heedo raised his head, and his eyes fell on Ho Changmin who was having tea on the balcony as if he was on a normal break. "Leave us."

"Yes, sir."

The two bodyguards keeping an eye on Ho Changmin bowed before leaving the room.

"Lim Jinwook already confessed everything," Heedo said, not moving from the spot. "And he won’t be covering for you anymore."

"I see," Ho Changmin said calmly while putting the teacup down on the table. "So, what will happen to me now? Are you going to sue me and throw me in jail?"

"If I do that, you’ll drag Lim Jinwook with you."

"Of course, he’s my accomplice."

"This has to remain a children’s fight, so we won’t sue," Heedo said, but he had no intention of letting Ho Changmin get away with it easily. "You can’t leave this villa until you sign a contract— a contract that forbids you from approaching me and my family, Park Sohee, Lee Junsu, and anyone within my circle."

Ho Changmin smirked bitterly. "Are you asking me to move to somewhere far from here?"

"Yes, exactly."

Ho Changmin finally lost his smile.

"If you don’t, I’ll find a way to send you and your family abroad," Heedo said coldly. "Your father works for a medium-sized company that the Ilsung Group could easily crush. Plus, it’s not like your father is an executive there. It would be easy for me to use my family’s influence to have your father transferred to his company’s overseas branch."

"You—"

"Your little sister is an idol trainee, isn’t she?" Heedo asked, cutting off Ho Changmin rudely. "She could kiss her dream goodbye if the public found out that her older brother was a lunatic who wasn’t only obsessed with Kosmos’ Jamie— but also a violent jerk that beat up people he was jealous of."

This was why Heedo didn’t bring Park Sohee there.

I don’t want Hyung to find out how cruel I could be.

Moreover...

"Stop obsessing over Lee Junsu," Heedo warned Ho Changmin. "What’s the point of scaring my former hook-ups and threatening my husband? Lee Junsu and I have broken up a long time ago. He has a new boyfriend now. If you want to bother someone to gain Lee Junsu’s attention, then go and target Sanha or whatever his name is."

"That’s the thing, Heedo-ya— I want to be Lee Junsu, the Lee Junsu who’s free and honest with himself," Ho Changmin said, smiling. "And that Lee Junsu is the Lee Junsu who’s obsessed with you."

Lee Junsu?

Obsessed with me?

Bullshit.

"If Lee Junsu was obsessed with me like you claimed, then why did he throw me away?" Heedo asked sarcastically. "You have no idea how many times I begged Lee Junsu to take me back."

"You really don’t know Lee Junsu, do you?"

"And what do you mean by that?"

Ho Changmin just smirked while shaking his head. "I’ll sign whatever contract you want me to sign. I’m done playing Lee Junsu anyway."

"Ah, there’s one more clause in the contract that you need to know."

"What?"

"You’ll tell us everything you know about the man who "sells luck,"" Heedo said firmly. "But whether you cooperate or not doesn’t matter since we’re already looking for that person, so you can’t use that excuse to negotiate your contract."

"Then why did you ask me about that person?" freёweɓnovel.com

"Well, it will be easier to find that conman if you cooperate with us."

"That person isn’t a conman."

"Yeah, right. A person who sells luck isn’t a conman, sure."

"I’ll tell you everything I know about that man," Ho Changmin said, smiling mysteriously. "I want you to find him so you’d know whether I’m right or wrong, Heedo-ya."

Heedo didn’t show it, but Ho Changmin’s threat kind of gave him bad vibes.

This bastard is just messing with my head, right?

"WOW," Sohee said, impressed after having his first bite of the samgyupsal that Han Raehyun grilled for them. "You’re really a grill master, Raehyun-ah."

Han Raehyun, Hong Sera’s boyfriend, beamed. "Thank you, Hyung."

"Raehyunnie’s family owns Charcoal Tree House Restaurant, Oppa," Hong Sera said proudly as if she was bragging about her own family. "Have you been there?"

"Really?" Sohee asked, surprised and impressed. "The Charcoal Tree House that I know? The stylish BBQ restaurant chain that serves high-end meat products? The BBQ restaurant known for their lavishly decorated modern space?"

That means Han Raehyun’s parents are those famous celebrity chefs who have been featured in several hit variety shows...

Hong Sera smiled and nodded. "You sound like a fan, Hyung."

"I am," Sohee said while nodding. "Dining in Charcoal Tree House is one of the things I haven’t crossed out on my bucket list yet."

"Why not, Hyung?" Yang Jaewon asked curiously. "They have a branch in Itaewon, and it’s close to our university."

"Ah, it was out of my budget before," Sohee said, scratching his cheek because he suddenly felt shy. "But now that I’m loaded, I’ll visit your restaurant for sure, Raehyun-ah."

"Let me know when you’re visiting, Hyung," Han Raehyun said politely. "I’ll introduce you to my parents."

"Oh, sure. I’d love to meet your parents."

"Bring us, too, Raehyun Oppa," Kim Haewon said. "It’s been so long since we last had a barbecue in your restaurant."

"Right?" Kim Hanhae agreed with his twin sister. "Can I bring my friend, Hyung?"

"Sure," Han Raehyun said. "I’ll treat you and your friends if you come to our restaurant."

Sohee smiled while watching the twins celebrate, and then he felt someone bore a hole in his face.

When he looked up, he saw Kim Heedo on the second floor’s balcony.

I didn’t know the brat smokes.

Sohee thought Kim Heedo looked sexy while smoking.

Not that I advertise smoking, okay?

***

SOHEE sneaked out of the barbecue party by the pool and joined Kim Heedo on the balcony.

This brat looks melancholic again.

"Are you not hungry, Heedo-ya?"

"I don’t have an appetite," Kim Heedo said, offering Sohee his pack of cigarettes. "Do you smoke, Hyung?"

"Oh, I already quit. I was forced to choose between onigiri and a pack of cigarettes back when I was broke, and it was obvious which one I chose," Sohee said, standing next to Kim Heedo. "I’ll just enjoy second-hand smoke from you."

"You’re saying something weird again, Hyung. You don’t have to choose between cigarettes and food anymore. Not that I’m advertising smoking— it’s bad for your health, especially second-hand smoke."

"I’ll let tomorrow’s Park Sohee worry about that."

Kim Heedo just chuckled while shaking his head.

"What’s wrong, Heedo-ya?" Sohee asked carefully. "Did Ho Changmin say something that upset you?"

"Hyung..."

While Kim Heedo was telling Sohee the things Ho Changmin revealed, Sohee only had one thought in his mind: everything led back to Lee Junsu.

I feel like Lee Junsu is this world’s main character, and I’m just a delusional extra.
