’What the fuck is this!? I can’t free my hands!’

Raygun cried out in his mind as he tried to pull back with force, but no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t free himself! Another two pillars of sand rose from under Raygun’s legs and wrapped around them before solidifying, and Raygun was shocked when he realized that he couldn’t move his legs either! He was trapped! What sort of power did this man have? Did this mean he could control any form of sand from anywhere!?

Raygun was confused as he tried to understand Keith’s power, and he looked up in fear and shouted when he saw Keith jump into the air in front of him! Raygun quickly tried to shoot another blast of energy toward him, but the pillars prevented him from getting the trajectory right and he completely missed! Keith’s boot came down with extraordinary force and slammed into Raygun’s chin!

Bam!

Raygun’s head shot back from the force and his brain shook like a pinball inside his skull! His vision began to swim and he could see three Keiths in front of him with their hands pulled back!

"W-Wai—"

Raygun tried to speak up for Keith to wait, but he never got to say the words before Keith’s sand-covered hand slammed into his face!

BAM!

Raygun’s lights immediately switched off and Keith watched with an impassive gaze as Raygun dropped like a puppet with his strings cut! Keith released a small sigh and finally began to calm down.

Up in the helicopter, another SMD agent made sure that Raygun was dealt with before he put his hand to his ear and spoke.

"All units, come in! The attacker has been apprehended! All healers and supporter units should move in immediately! I repeat; it is safe for all supporter and healer units to move in!"

The sound of various vehicles arriving from the distance reached the ears of the civilians left behind from Raygun’s rampage, and it wasn’t long before various ambulances and SMD trucks arrived on the scene! The ambulances contained healers and supporters who were contracted with hospitals or the government, and the trucks were there to help in moving anyone who needed to be taken to the hospital quickly!

Even though regular humans didn’t have mana, it was still possible for healers and supporters to use their abilities on them. For healers, it was easier since they would be able to manipulate the body of any human using their own mana, but supporters mostly worked as vitality boosts that helped a struggling human gain more energy so that they wouldn’t die before they were healed by the healers or taken to the hospital!

The healers and supporters filled the scene and began to move toward the dead and injured humans, and Keith watched from the sideline as they tried to save as many as they could. There were a lot of people they couldn’t do anything for, and the sound of crying and screaming filled the area as their loved ones begged them to save them.

Keith had a troubled expression on his face as he looked around. He knew that there was nothing else he could do now, but he couldn’t help but feel like he had failed these people. Keith turned away a few seconds later when he heard the sound of the other Enforcers arriving on the scene. Keith faced a young woman who was his direct junior and told her to take charge and make sure the criminal was processed.

The woman saluted before watching as Keith began to walk away silently. There was admiration and slight awe in her eyes as she watched him. Keith was powerful, but it was his ability to handle situations without causing much damage to the environment that really astounded her. Even though Raygun’s ability was so destructive, Keith was able to deal with him in no time at all!

Keith’s Gift worked in a similar way to most other Emitters in the world. He could spread his mana out from his body and allow it to saturate the space around him so that it would be easier for him to activate the skill and use it against his enemies. In this battle, Keith had been spreading his mana out to the surrounding area while he was reading Raygun’s rights to him, so when Raygun tried to fire at him earlier, it was easy for Keith to manipulate the mana in the ground under Raygun and create the pillars that held him down!

After more than five years of fighting with his ability, Keith had developed a method that would cause the least amount of damage to the environment while also apprehending criminals quickly!

Keith was making his way off to the helicopter so he could leave, but suddenly stopped when the ground under his feet shook!

BOOM!

A massive explosion echoed from the east and Keith turned to look at it in shock! What the hell was going on here!?

[Lieutenant Keith, come in.]

Keith put his hand up to his ear once his comm came to life and he furrowed his brow and asked the person on the other line what was going on.

"Is there another attack?"

[Yes, there’s been another attack, but there is already an agent on the ground. She was close by and responded to the distress call immediately.]

Keith’s frown deepened as he spoke.

"So then why are you calling me? Isn’t she strong enough to handle it?"

[Uhm... that isn’t the problem here, sir. Actually, the higher-ups told me to contact you so you could head over there and make sure things didn’t get out of control.]

"Wait. Who exactly are we talking about here?"

The person on the other side of the comm was silent for a few seconds before they finally spoke.

[Commander Agiel.]

"What!? Who let her go after a criminal!?"

Keith would normally never lose his cool, but once he heard that the commander was going after a criminal on civilian territory, he couldn’t contain his anger! Were they insane!? Didn’t they know that this was a recipe for fucking disaster!

BOOM!

Another explosion raged through the region and Keith looked up to see that a large cloud of smoke was starting to rise from the distance! The commander was going to fucking destroy the district! Keith immediately shouted into his comm!

"Tell the agents to evacuate all civilians now! If the commander is fighting, then you can’t stop her! Just get everybody out of there!"

Keith began running to the helicopter without waiting for a response and shouted to the pilot!

"Go there now!!"

The pilot didn’t need to know where ’there’ was and he took off immediately and began flying toward the battle!

It took only about three minutes for them to reach the scene of the battle and Keith felt a heavy sigh slip from his lips as he saw the damage that had already been done. There were three broken buildings, various large craters on the road, and a large fire was burning down what had once been a bar.

And in the middle of all this, a white-haired woman stood with a bored expression on her face. She was wearing a well-fitted t-shirt and a black jacket over it with tight jeans that showed off her well-shaped behind. She wore black boots and was holding a pair of black gloves in one hand.

This was Commander Agiel, and today was supposed to be her day off.
