Chapter 397: Chapter 397 – Sabrina the matchmaker.

"Can you do me a favor?"

Jacob’s eyes lit up at the request, the same time taken aback as he replied, "anything for you, sister-in-law." His eagerness amused Sabrina as she instructed him,

"My friend is at the gate. Can you bring her inside?" She asked delightfully, her smile made it impossible for Jacob to refuse her.

Nevertheless, the light in Jacob’s eyes dimmed. This wasn’t what he expected, though he didn’t know exactly what he expected from the favor she wanted to ask him.

"Of course. I hope she’s as beautiful as you are," he smiled and said, but it didn’t reach his eyes.

The chef frowned a little, feeling that Jacob was playing with fire by flirting with the boss’s wife, even if they were related.

Reaching the gate, Jacob was surprised to see a woman dressed in office wear and told the security men, "let her in."

Since Sabrina mentioned a friend, he expected the woman to be dressed casually, feeling that perhaps she lived nearby or even semi-formal would have been okay.

Laura remembered Jacob from the wedding reception, but Jacob had no recollection of her since his attention by then was only on Sabrina.

"What are you doing here?" Laura asked worriedly, her protective instincts kicking in as she feared that Sabrina must be in some kind of trouble with this man.

Jacob’s brows raised as he said, "you talk as if you know me."

Laura was surprised at first but upon second thoughts, felt that he was pretending. "I saw you at the wedding reception and you wanted to abduct Sabrina," Laura said directly. Jacob was slightly guilty, but he was quite moved by Laura’s smartness.

"Smart woman. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice you, or maybe you look different. Anyway, I’m Jacob, Robin’s twin brother," Jacob extended his hand to Laura for a handshake, but she did not reciprocate it.

Frowning deeply, Laura asked, "What?" She did not believe that this man was Robin’s twin brother since Robin never mentioned it. Also, they didn’t look alike, and thirdly, he tried to kidnap Sabrina before.

There was no way she was going to take anything he said seriously. Her expression exposed her doubts as Jacob said to her, "It seems that you are having trouble believing me. Perhaps RJ would explain it to you himself."

Laura was even more confused with the name he just mentioned, wondering if she was in the wrong house. This man seemed as if he was insane.

"Who is RJ?" She asked, but Jacob was already at the door and held it for her.

"Robin Jewel. That is what I call him. Enter. There is nothing to be afraid of."

Laura complied, but only relaxed after Sabrina left the kitchen. "Mrs. Jewel, I’m glad you’re okay," Laura said with relief.

Sabrina frowned and rebuked her, "Please stop calling me that. I guess you’ve already met Jacob, Robin’s twin brother."

Finally relaxed by Sabrina’s confirmation, Laura spoke truthfully, "I didn’t believe it when he said it."

"Laura, you’re here," Robin said, announcing his presence. When he woke up without Sabrina by his side, he was greatly disturbed and quickly rushed downstairs. Seeing Sabrina and Laura, he was happy.

"Yes, Mr. Jewel. Good morning," Laura said politely. But Jacob couldn’t bury his curiosity any longer, asking,

"Why is Sabrina’s friend addressing you so formally?"

Robin was about to explain when Laura blurted out, "I’m her bodyguard, but we’ve become friends."

The shocked look on Jacob’s face was priceless. "You? A bodyguard?" Jacob laughed out loud, and Laura was upset.

"What’s so funny about me being a bodyguard?" She didn’t hide her annoyance, her brows raised with the question.

"You don’t look tough," Jacob said with disappointment. However, it also made him curious to know more about Laura.

"That’s why I chose her, so that no one would suspect it," Robin explained casually.

Jacob laughed once more before stating, "Then you should hire me to be my sister-in-law’s bodyguard. Why does she need a bodyguard anyway?" He asked with confusion.

Robin pulled his brother aside and after explaining things to him, the latter paled. "And you couldn’t find them?"

Robin shook his head and said, "I’m still searching, but I haven’t told her, so you should keep this between us."

Jacob realized that Robin and Sabrina’s relationship was more complicated than he thought.

"Sure, but I’m quite interested in this bodyguard of your choice." He walked back to Laura and said, "I have some training. Let me see what you’ve got." The living room was very large, so even as Jacob took the position of a fight, Robin did not immediately try to stop them.

While Laura was reluctant, she looked at Robin as she addressed Jacob, "You’re my boss’s twin brother. I can’t act without his permission."

Robin found their bickering amusing and said, "Go ahead, teach him a lesson."

He knew that if caught in a fight, even he would not be able to defeat Laura. She was the best in her squad, and her squad was equally the best of the best.

Jacob was unprepared when a kick landed on his jaw, causing him to bite his tongue as it bled.

"Oh, shit," he rushed to the washroom when he tasted the red metallic liquid in his mouth.

"Well done, Laura," Robin gave her a thumbs up. Sabrina laughed and signaled for Robin to come over as she whispered,

"You are ruining everything. I was trying to match them."

Robin’s eyes widened, as he never expected it from her. "I’m honestly surprised."

Sabrina was at a loss, not knowing if his few words meant encouragement or reprimand. "I know, but I figured you want him to stay so I wanted to give him a reason to," Sabrina revealed, and Robin’s heart warmed at her thoughtfulness. But there was a problem.

"But Laura, nobody knows about her private life. She could even be married," Robin said. Sabrina was at a loss.
