Chapter 399: Chapter 399 - Matilda, I think I’m in labor

Before breakfast, Robin sat on the couch with Jacob while Laura held the camera. Robin addressed the audience,

"I made this video because I want it to go viral. Jacob Dwayne is my long-lost fraternal twin brother, but I won’t give the details. Our meeting wasn’t in the best form, but the most important thing is, we have sorted out our differences and now live as a family."

Robin signaled, and Laura ended the video. He transferred it to Daniel to send it viral.

"You have a very good heart," Jacob said, almost in tears. He never thought that he and Robin would ever be so close, but it was happening so fast.

"There’s no need for that. I want your business to expand. I don’t care if it even surpasses mine. What matters is that we flourish together and love each other. After all, we die once and nobody knows that day."

Jacob smiled through tears. Robin was just a few minutes older than him, but he was speaking as if he was a decade older.

"If I am not mistaken, I will say that you are speaking like an old man. Then again, don’t you have work?" Jacob wiped another tear as he spoke. Robin chuckled and replied,

"I can still work from home, so it doesn’t matter. But as for speaking like an old man, it’s as a result of learning life’s lessons the bitter way," Robin said with a grim expression.

"You know what, I promise to never look at your wife that way again. I will never do anything to bring harm to you or make you sad, ever. Rather, I will help to protect my sister-in-law. As for you, you don’t need protection," Jacob shrugged and wiped more tears.

Robin’s eyes were equally glassy but he was smiling at his twin brother’s choice of words. It was amazing to have a blood relation.

"Jacob," Ethel called from upstairs. Jacob smiled apologetically and said,

"Duty calls. I will be right back."

Robin nodded his head and went to the kitchen, his eyes darkening at the sight of Sabrina cooking.

"My queen. The chef is here, so what are you doing?" He went to take the spatula from her hand as Sabrina pouted and said, "The chef is making breakfast and I’m making your packed lunch."

Robin’s heart warmed that she still wanted to cook for him. Though he loved it, he was also greatly concerned. "You need more rest at this stage."

"I need exercise too, and this is exercise," Sabrina countered and tried to retrieve her spatula, but Robin lifted it above her head.

But what if I told you that I’m not going to work today because I want to spend the day cuddling in bed with you?"

Sabrina’s cheeks turned crimson; the chef also blushed at Robin’s romantic words. Then Sabrina frowned a little. "Oh, why didn’t you tell me before?"

Robin always informed her about his schedules in advance, so she couldn’t stop wondering why he was only telling her about this now.

"That’s because I just decided on it now, but don’t worry. We shall eat together during lunch. How are our babies?" He asked, passing the spatula to the chef.

Robin instantly went on his knees and kissed her bump. Laura, who was coming to the kitchen, froze and her eyes welled up with joyful tears.

Love was indeed a beautiful thing. Sabrina caressed his hair playfully, smiled, and asked, "Now that you asked, did you get a response?"

"With that kick on my mouth? Of course, I did," Robin said, and they both laughed as he kissed her bump once again. "They are very strong babies."

"I guess, and I would pick up the remaining baby clothes," Sabrina said. Robin was interested.

"We shall go together."

After breakfast with the family, including Laura, Robin took Sabrina for a walk. Returning, they showered together, after which they cuddled in bed. Robin had already called Aria to reschedule all his appointments.

After this week, he was certain to begin his leave from the office.

A few weeks later, Laura closed from her duty of watching over Sabrina, and Jacob had traveled to California a week before to handle some urgent matters in his corporation with Ethel.

They were trying to open a new head office in New York and move the prominent staff there. The old building would then be used as one of the branches.

Robin had been away from work for a week, but today he had some urgent matters to attend to and briefly dashed to his office while Sabrina was napping.

It wasn’t up to two hours before he returned and heard her speaking on the phone. "Matilda, I think I’m in labor. Make sure you come. You..."

"My queen, are you alright?" Robin asked, interrupting her call. Sabrina’s back was turned to the door, and when she turned to face Robin, beads of sweat formed on her face, and she looked like she was in so much pain.

"No. I think it’s time," she said with a pained expression, paling with it.

"Grandma!" Robin yelled from upstairs as he carried Sabrina in his arms and instructed one of the drivers.

"Hurry up. To the hospital."

From the urgency in Robin’s tone, Cecilia needn’t be told about what was happening.

"Sabrina, remember to take deep breaths and release them through your mouth slowly," Cecilia guided her, trying to catch up to Robin, who was carrying a pregnant woman like a feather.

Sabrina was nodding her head vigorously, curling her toes as another contraction set in. Grandma knew that first deliveries could take hours, so she was calm.

Needless to say, she decided to ask, "How long has it been since you began to feel the pain?" They were already in the car.

The driver was in the front, Robin sat to Sabrina’s left in the back, and grandma to her right.

"Since morning. It started off as a cramp, but now the pain is unbearable," Sabrina wept, and Robin was shocked that he saw no signs in her this morning, not even in the afternoon before he went to the office.

Grandma was greatly disturbed. "Why didn’t you tell me? It’s your first child, and you are carrying twins. You should have been in the hospital earlier."
