The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 400 – Grandma, I’m Exhausted
Chapter 400: Chapter 400 – Grandma, I’m Exhausted
"Why didn’t you tell me?" Cecilia asked, her brows furrowed. "It’s your first child, and you are carrying twins. You should have been in the hospital earlier."
She was afraid of complications and was also annoyed that Sabrina had endured all the pain alone until she could not bear it anymore.
But what about her blood pressure? There were other things that needed to be checked at the hospital multiple times during labor.
Sabrina was slightly guilty, but due to the pain she was going through, all her attention shifted as she hoped that everything would be fine.
"I was waiting for the water to break," Sabrina groaned. Robin pulled her closer, lost as to what to do. He would rub her stomach and feel useless for not being able to do anything else.
He had read about it and knew that at this point, everything was dependent on his wife.
He remembered to keep massaging her waist slowly, and though he was upset that she hid her labor from both him and grandma for so long, he couldn’t voice it.
Helping to relieve her pain was the paramount thing on his mind.
Grandpa was upset with Sabrina and did not hide it from her.
"Silly girl, stop taking everything you watch from movies literally. The water breaking is not the same for every woman. Some might break just a few minutes before delivery. Some even don’t break, and the doctor would have to do it for you," she educated through chastisement.
Sabrina was tired of her speaking. Everything was beginning to irritate her, including grandma’s voice, as the pain intensified.
The only physical pains she endured were menstrual pains, but this one seemed aggravated to the highest form that she wished it would just stop.
"Grandma, I’m so tired," she closed her eyes and said weakly. Grandma was even more worried. She couldn’t tell the driver to do drive faster because the driver was already doing so.
"Save your strength. Keep taking deep breaths. I believe that we are almost there. The babies will be out, and you will be free," Grandma encouraged her, stroking her hair.
Because her labor was over eight hours now, she hoped that Sabrina would be ready by the time they reached the hospital.
Robin was so helpless, not knowing how to take Sabrina’s pain or relieve her from it. It didn’t look like the waist massage was helping so much, and he lacked the right words to say to her, refraining from it.
If his words would not take her pain away, he found it unnecessary to release them.
By the time they reached the hospital, Matilda was already there with Daniel, and Sabrina was rushed to the delivery room.
Cobby arrived and comforted Cecilia. "Sabrina will be fine. She is a strong woman, stronger than her mother."
Seeing the tense atmosphere, Matilda was scared of getting pregnant now.
When Sabrina spoke on the phone with Matilda, the latter knew she was in pain, but seeing her now, she was already thinking of epidural or C-section.
Natural labor was too painful, and she wondered if she would be able to endure it like Sabrina was doing.
Devin pulled her closer and kissed the top of her head. "Don’t worry. A lot of pregnant women give birth every day. Only a few of them result in complications."
Matilda was about to ask if he was a doctor and had ever experienced that, but on second thought, decided to keep quiet as she was disturbed about Sabrina’s condition.
"Grandma, what is going on? I called RJ when I got home and he said you guys were here," Jacob said. He had arrived from California with Ethel, and the security men informed them, so he picked up Laura on the way, and they came over.
Their two-week dating contract ended without a single date as Jacob had been busy since. However, after informing Laura about what he heard, she insisted on coming too.
Everybody waited anxiously, but inside the delivery room, Sabrina had changed into a hospital gown with Robin’s help.
"Six centimeters," the doctor said after checking her cervix. Sabrina was gnashing her teeth. Her cervix had 4cms more to stretch before the babies would be birthed. "Don’t worry. The baby should be out in a few hours," the doctor added a timeline, but Robin was mad.
"What do you mean hours? She’s in pain, do something," he demanded of the doctor. He was helpless but didn’t think so about the doctors.
"She already said she doesn’t want an epidural or Caesarean. I’m afraid it’s just the way it is," the doctor spoke honestly but in a polite tone.
Robin knew that, but it didn’t take his worries away, seeing Sabrina like that. "Can’t you do anything to help her?"
"Keep rubbing her back and comfort her," the doctor smiled and said, but Robin had already done that and not seen any improvement.
"My queen, I’m so sorry, but why not accept an epidural? I hate that I can’t take your pains away," Robin tried to be strong for his wife.
Sabrina was so tired and in so much pain, she paid no attention to what Robin was saying, groaning and not giving him any response.
Everybody was pacing in front of the ward, including Lizzy and Daniel, who had come to offer support. Jacob was so eager to see his nieces or nephews, and Laura had a sad look on her face.
Three hours later, the doctor instructed, "Push Sabrina, you can do this."
Robin had been continuously wiping the sweat from Sabrina’s face with a towel, but they were quickly replaced like water. Sabrina was panting and lying on her back.
"I’m tired. I can’t," she said, enduring too much and unable to take it anymore. The pain was just unbearable.
"Then we would have to take you to the theatre," the doctor said. This time, Sabrina did not refuse, so the doctor gave Robin some documents to sign.
Robin was so worried that he had no idea how to comfort his wife. He vowed in his heart that after this, he would never allow her to go through it again.
His respect for pregnant women and mothers intensified as Sabrina was wheeled to the theatre. Robin waited in the waiting area, with everybody worried and saying their silent prayers.
A few minutes later, the doctor came out. "Mr. Jewel, I’m afraid there are serious complications." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
