Chapter 402: Chapter 402 – He passed

A few hours earlier

"Matilda, I think I’m in labor, you have to..." Sabrina did not finish her statement but Matilda knew what to do. After hanging up the phone, she woke up Devin from sleep.

"Devin, I have to go to the hospital. Sabrina is in labor."

Devin did not hesitate as they dressed up and left the penthouse. Arriving at the hospital, the timing was perfect as Sabrina had not arrived.

"Devin, I want to use the ladies’ room. Please wait here," Matilda said. Devin nodded his head since the washrooms were not far from the waiting area. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

"Be careful," Devin said and waited. As Matilda headed to the ladies’ room, she branched to the doctor’s office.

Since she had been there for her antenatal checks and was attended to by the same doctor, things were easy.

"Good morning, Doctor Britany." The doctor lifted her head from what she was doing and smiled at Matilda.

"Tilly, how are you?"

Matilda hastened from the door where she stood and sat in front of the doctor. "It’s about what I discussed with you the last time. Sabrina is on her way."

The doctor pursed her lips. "I thought you’d change your mind."

Matilda shook her head. "She hasn’t so neither can I."

"I will try my best," the doctor forced a smile. She couldn’t confirm it with Sabrina because every time she came for her checks, Robin was always there. However, Matilda was not liking the response and said seriously,

"Don’t try your best. Just do it, please. I will pay you any amount."

The doctor smiled and shook her head. She was not like those fraud doctors. The only reason why she agreed to do it was because of the notion behind it.

If this would clear all of Sabrina’s insecurities, then why not? She also knew it could turn out as a disaster if things did not go as planned.

"You don’t have to pay me anything. This is just a test of love."

"Thank you," Matilda smiled and said.

As soon as she stepped out of the doctor’s office, she bumped into Devin, as she held her chest to keep calm.

"Devin, what are you doing here?"

Devin was worried because he had gone to the men’s restroom, which was close to the women’s, but had not seen Matilda after he was done.

He was tracking her phone with the tracking device installed on it and was about to open the door when Matilda opened it from inside.

"Ah, Tilda, I was worried. Where did you go?" Devin asked worriedly.

Matilda sighed with relief upon knowing that he had not heard her conversation with the doctor.

"Relax, I was just saying hi to Doctor Britany. Has Sabrina arrived?" Matilda quickly diverted the topic. Devin shook his head, "No."

They went back to the waiting area and it was not long before Sabrina arrived. At the delivery room, the doctor winked at Sabrina and said, "Push Sabrina, you can do this."

Sabrina got the hint that everything was ready for her but they needed to get Robin out of the delivery room so she replied through painful contractions, "I’m tired. I can’t."

She was indeed tired and the pain was unbearable but also knew that she still had a little time as they had already planned ahead.

"Then we would have to take you to the theatre," the doctor said but this time, Sabrina did not refuse so the doctor gave Robin some documents to sign.

After Sabrina was sent to the theatre, the doctor worriedly said, "we can still go by CS. I can see that you are tired."

Sabrina balled her hand into a fist, as if to numb the pain, though it wasn’t working. "I can push. At least let me try."

After she watched some videos of women delivering their babies through vaginal birth online, she was amazed by their strength and was determined to give it a shot.

Since there were no complications as they had made Robin believe, why not take her chances?

She gathered her courage and pushed. "You are doing well. I can feel the head," the doctor said.

Sabrina was exhausted as one of the nurses encouraged her, "You can do it. I have done it three times. My first were also twins."

That must have worked as Sabrina was missing Robin by her side. Somehow, his presence gave her strength, which had run out with his absence.

Whereas she wanted this and could not complain. The next three pushes were the strongest she gave and through her painful groans, the first baby was out.

"You should be proud. It’s a boy. Congratulations!" The doctor handed him to one of the nurses, who began cleaning him as the doctor focused on the second baby.

Sabrina was very excited, as she and Robin had decided not to check the sex of the babies until they were born, to keep the suspense alive.

Another painful contraction hit Sabrina after she thought she had found relief from the first one. However, this one was even more intense. With three strong pushes, the second baby was born.

"It’s a girl. You are so brave, congratulations," the doctor said as the babies’ cries filled the room. Luckily, it was soundproofed and nobody could hear them.

After the remains of the umbilical cord were removed and Sabrina was cleaned up, her eyes were almost closing from exhaustion as the doctor remarked,

"You’ve done well. Your husband should have seen this. He would have been very proud of you."

Sabrina was tired but forced a smile. They had to stick to the plan or too much delay would make Robin anxious and he might just come in.

"Please stick to the plan. If he passes this test, nothing will ever break us apart and I would be a fool for him again."

The doctor was a little nervous. She could see the love shining brightly in Robin’s eyes and didn’t feel that Sabrina needed this test to prove it.

However, she had already agreed to help and there was nothing she could do about it.

"I hope that this doesn’t destroy your marriage, but we have to make your stomach a little bigger," the doctor observed and said.

Sabrina nodded as the doctor added a fake bump to make her stomach as big as before. She left and returned after a few minutes.

"He passed. He asked us to save you."
