The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 87 Revenge (1)_1
Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Revenge (1)_1
Situ Xin nodded in appreciation of Liu Yuxiang’s shooting movements. Not bad at all, he clearly looked like an old hand with guns; it was just a question of how good his marksmanship was.
Liu Yuxiang was faster than Xia Yujie, and his score was also a bit higher. He scored ninety-two out of ten shots. "Master, how was that? Not too shabby, right? I didn’t embarrass you, did I? Oh, and my gun..." As soon as Liu Yuxiang put down the gun in his hand and turned around, his facial expression instantly changed.
Situ Xin thought to herself, Why does he change faces as quickly as in a Peking opera?
"Well, the speed and scores are pretty average," Situ Xin commented, then turned to Xia Yujie and continued, "To be honest, with your abilities, getting into the national team shouldn’t be a problem." At Situ Xin’s words, Liu Yuxiang’s smile brightened even more.
Which Situ Xin found somewhat annoying, "But you must understand what you will be facing. The targets you will confront won’t be stationary ones, but actual enemies. The kind of enemies who will take your lives if your shots are even a second late. So, you must be fast, ruthless, and accurate. Only by achieving these three things will you be able to take the initiative against your enemies."
Their expressions grew serious as they digested Situ Xin’s words, understanding that her points were valid. They should not get too proud over their slight achievements.
Seeing that her words had taken effect, Situ Xin did not elaborate further. "While movement is vital in a shooting competition, what you need to focus on at the critical moment isn’t your movement, but whether your gun is aimed at the target, whether you’ve preempted the target’s attack. Sometimes, the process isn’t as important as the outcome."
After finishing, Situ Xin gestured for them to continue their training, standing by to offer guidance and point out areas for improvement.
"Alright, let’s wrap it up for today. The rest can be practiced later. Meet at the usual time and place tonight," Situ Xin announced, noting that it was almost time for her to leave school.
In the following training sessions, Situ Xin designed them in preparation for the operation set for the day after tomorrow. "We don’t have much time, so it’s impossible for me to teach you everything," she said, looking at the excited Liu Yuxiang. She continued, "This time, I won’t be teaching martial arts, only some lethal moves and techniques." With those words, Liu Yuxiang deflated like a punctured ball.
Yet he understood the purpose of this training, so despite his disappointment, he put his heart into it.
"Now, both of you strap on these sandbags filled with lead," directed Situ Xin. "Remember, for the next two days, you may only remove them when bathing or sleeping. At all other times, they must stay on." She hoped this method would quickly strengthen their wrists and ankles.
Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang had gained much from Situ Xin’s training. But they couldn’t fathom how such a young child could possess such extensive combat experience.
The day was overcast, much like Xia Yujie’s mood at the time. The previous night, he had received details about the funeral’s specific time and location from his former subordinate. It was clear that Dai Licheng and Zhu Bin had arranged for him to get this information, intentionally trying to lure Xia Yujie out.
Last time, Zhu Bin had nearly succeeded in killing Xia Yujie but was thwarted at the last moment by someone unknown. On regaining consciousness, an enraged Zhu Bin had stormed back and vowed to slaughter the person who had saved Xia Yujie if he ever found out who it was.
Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang stepped out of the house dressed in black jackets. Seeing his friend’s gloomy face, Liu Yuxiang knew Xia Yujie was having a difficult time, burdened with guilt. Walking over, he patted Xia Yujie’s shoulder. "Ah Jie, let’s go." But the comforting words that were about to leave his lips remained unspoken. He understood that no matter what he said, it wouldn’t unravel the knot in Xia Yujie’s heart. Perhaps only by personally dealing with his enemies would Xia Yujie find some peace.
"Let’s go," said Xia Yujie, adjusting his emotions. He had a tough battle ahead that day.
Liu Yuxiang picked up Situ Xin from kindergarten, still under the guise of being her older brother. As he took Situ Xin’s hand and led her out of the classroom, their teachers watched his departure with eyes full of affection, leaving him speechless.
"Master, you’re going dressed like that?" Liu Yuxiang turned to see Situ Xin in a pink princess dress and couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth. He wanted to remind her that they were heading into a potentially deadly encounter, not on a leisurely outing.
Looking at the dress she was wearing, Situ Xin felt helpless inside. It wasn’t that she disliked dresses; they were simply inconvenient for most activities. But given that among the two, rather three, families, she was the only girl, figures like her aunt and mother treated her like a doll to be dressed up. "Why the useless chatter?" she snapped, quickening her pace towards the car waiting at the school gate without waiting for Liu Yuxiang.
Watching Situ Xin’s sudden change in demeanor, Liu Yuxiang touched his nose and thought to himself, "Oops, I seem to have stepped on a landmine with the master."
"Where to first after this?" Situ Xin asked brusquely once they were in the car.
Xia Yujie glanced at Situ Xin and then at Liu Yuxiang as he got into the car without asking anything, he replied, "We need to meet with my father’s subordinates first. After that, we head to the funeral site." Liu Yuxiang, wisely remaining silent, started the car.
"Right, I asked you yesterday to get a clear layout of the funeral venue. How did that go?" Situ Xin preferred to have all the necessary information before an operation.
"It’s been clarified. Here," Xia Yujie handed her the detailed layout. "They’ve chosen to hold it at the Dragon Society headquarters." As he spoke, a disdainful smirk appeared on Xia Yujie’s face, aware of their underlying intent.
