What do you mean I'm a cultivator?-Chapter 59[END OF BOOK 1]

Opening the chamber made Cheng feel that he was stepping into another world entirely.

Aside from the fact that he had somewhat gotten used to the high concentration of Qi in the closed off environment that the chamber provided, his senses couldn't be compared to before.

Before, the darkness formed by the lack of any lights down here, could be mitigated by pushing Qi into his eyes. Right now, he had to do none of that. His eyes were strong enough that it might as well have been a sunny day, the sun's rays illuminating everything he saw.

Of course, the darkness was still here. But it didn't hinder Cheng at all. He could see as well as he could in daytime.

He took a deep breath in, and stretched a little, hearing pops and cracks as his bones settled.

It was then that Cheng gagged, having just realised that some dark oily substance had covered him head to toe.

"Ugh. Makes sense I suppose. Impurities. Who would have thought that no book would mention this." he spoke to no one in particular.

No books had mentioned anything like this happening during advancement. But perhaps it was either something so common it didn't matter enough to be noted down, or could be found in some esoteric medical text.

Cheng turned his gaze upwards, and took off in a light jog. Then, into a run. and then, he slammed his foot down, and accelerated far beyond what he could have achieved before. And that, was without using Qi.

His first step lifted him multiple meters from the ground distance wise, almost making him tumble to the ground.

But his newfound reflexes and control over his body let him continue his run, as he approached the wall of the pit he had dug. freeweɓnovel.cøm

Instead of the stairs, he had something else in mind.

His foot landed on the wall, and he started wall running. There was no need for fancy techniques like before. Cheng was now too fast to even need those.

But of course, in exchange, each step left a small indent in the wall, betraying the force each of his steps brought to it.

In a second or two, he landed on the top of the stairs and opened the floorboards, climbing back up to his cabin.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Cheng set the floorboards back into their place, and took a step outside his cabin for what had been months since he locked himself down there.

Coincidentally, it was morning. Sunrise to be exact. It almost felt poetic to Cheng. As if the universe was centered around him.

And to be honest, it felt like that to him. The changes brought from this new step of cultivation were staggering.

He was sure he could beat his previous self with no effort. Even ten wouldn't be an effort.

But this was also a bad sign. If taking this step felt so good, it was no wonder that people far stronger than him had no problems creating seas of bodies in the pursuit of more power.

"Perhaps this is why some pampered cultivators are so arrogant." Cheng mumbled, taking a deep breath in.

He tried to return to his previous view. The world didn't revolve around him. He was only a foundation establishment cultivator. A small fry in the grand scheme of things.

But it was hard. He simply felt too good. Hell, even a smile broke his usually stoic expression, as he digested his new position.

Slowly, he turned back inside and entered the pit, falling from the top of the stairs and landing on his feet with a thud.

It must have been a steep drop. Before, he'd have to reinforce his feet. But now? he barely felt that.

Placing a hand on the wall, Cheng's Qi flooded into the wall, and then, he pulled it apart.

He had once packed the dirt he dug into the surounding walls. And now, he would collapse them, burying this sacred chamber deep within the earth. This chamber was a secret privy only to himself.

And he had no intention of letting it be discovered that easily.

Around a hour later, a feat way beyond the old Cheng, he put the floorboards back into place a second time, and just sat on his bed.

Technically, he was still on a long term mission, issued by his master. So what was taking a day off? he deserved that much right?

And so, that was exactly what Cheng did. he just rested. He lounged around on his bed. he took a nap, as uncharacteristic as that sounded for him.

The only two things he had done throughout this day, were to taking a nice long bath in the cold river running down the outer sect, trying to scrape off the gunk that clung on his skin, using the crude soap that the outer sect had.

No nice smelling floral soaps around here. But, he supposed it was better than nothing.

The other thing, was carving. lounging on his bed, Cheng used a mortal grade knife as well as a chunk of wood he had laying around the cabin, and carved a simple cube.

It was not a carving that he put lots of effort into. Just something to pass the time.

But he had just over two decades of experience with wood. And that showed, as Cheng spun the plain, but perfectly carved cube on the tip of his finger, watching it whirl around.

It was almost too proportionally cut for a human hand, but that was simply a result of his new cultivation.

It was unlike Cheng to rest this way. Typically, even his short rests were mixed with anything that could potentially help him. But now, he finally had some breathing room.

But of course, habits were hard to break for the common man. Let alone an obsessive one such as Cheng, for the next day, he found himself before the door of the place he had learned about and met his master so long ago.

And he took a step inside.
